He's overrated like a lot of Man U players. Apparently Tom Cleverly is the best English central midfielder. We just don't know it because he's been injured for most of the season.

Undetermined how good at DM he is, I remember him against Madrid doing very well against Ozil and Ronaldo, and then controlled Ramsey and Ozil against Arsenal and him and Giggs were surprisingly brilliant against BL, United look much better with him in midfield than Fellaini or Cleverly. He isn't great on the ball and his passing is quite average which means he is no Martinez but he stops the opposition playing. Him, Carrick and Kagawa is the best chance United have got in midfield in away CL games. Jones could become a great DM if he improves his passing.

They need to play Kagawa centrally and Rooney as a striker. SAF bought RVP as a short term solution so he could leave on a high note with a trophy but Kagawa-Rooney (which makes them 4-2-3-1) needs to be the first choice partnership. Not Rooney-RvP (which makes them 4-4-2).

Trying to sign Cesc was a waste of time and trying to sign Fellaini was a waste of money. What did they pay for Anderson and Fellaini combined? Over € 60 million? Oh, man...

Yep. Impressive every time I watch him. He's the kind of player it's easy to laugh at for obvious reasons. But boy, does he make life difficult for the opponents.

Come to think of it, England could actually play some great football if they would try Carrick - Jones in a double pivote with Wilshere as a number 10. With Rooney as the lone striker.

Highly unlikely because Roy has no balls to drop Gerrard and will use Lampard as holding player instead of Carrick..........England are going into this world cup without unrealistic expectations so, this would be the right time to experiment......with emergence of Barkley and Morrison, England have enough technical players to pull off a 4-2-3-1 formation similar to Spain........

i wasn't a fan of jones in midfield last season as i didn't think he had enough ability on the ball, but fair play to him, he's been excellent there this season, does a very good job defensively. he's only 21 so he has time on his hands to improve his passing, i still reckon he'll be primarily a centre back in the future but i think he'll be one of those players that can play either position (cb or dm) when required, very useful player to have, does a solid job as a right back too, very versatile player.

The reason most fans are warming up to Jones as DM is Fellaini's awful performance....Jones is better DM than Fellaini and he is more useful going forward because Fellaini offers nothing to attack.....

yep, i have no idea what fellaini is supposed to offer as a central midfielder to justify playing him there. he's slow, his passing is average, he's lazy defensively and he's always a danger to get sent off due to his size and aggressive style. i think he'll be a player that we'll be trying to get rid of in a couple of seasons, there is no conceivable way that i see him fitting in at united. it is disappointing that our only midfield signing of the summer is just more deadwood, and very expensive deadwood at that...

He could easily be worst signing in our history because it was obvious that he was not cut out to play in central midfield and it was Moyes who used shifted him to no 10 role because he was picking up yellow card every game......He's worse signing than Bebe,Ando e.t.c. because those signings were supposed to be gambles.....

true, considering that moyes had fellaini at everton for 5 years and already knew everything there was to know about him as a player it makes the signing even more baffling...
