It seems like a waste of talent to be honest. His qualities are his energy, his athleticism, his reading of the game and his tenacity. He's an aggressive player that always wants to attack the opponents. He'd probably get dragged out of position too often in a centre back role.

I think he's better in central midfield. As he's shown already... with great performances against top sides.

I've seen him excel for Blackburn U18s and England U21s as a centre back. Beast.

He's comparable to Kompany, in my opinion. He can also do a fine job in midfield but is their defensive wall.

I'd like to see Jones get a run of games beside Evans who is very underrated outside of England and even Manchester.

Evans is so underrated its crazy everybody still blames him subconsciously about the 6-1 imo, but he has improved so much since then our best defender last season.

who, jones? nah united is the pinnacle for british players, just like bayern to german players, i expect jones to spend the rest of his career at united...

You mean you think British players would rather play for United than Barca or Madrid? Yeah, right

He found it harder in midfield today against a physical trio but did well in spells. Some hard tackles and a dangerous cross that lead to Rooney's goal.

Of course they would, it's not even debatable. As the above poster said, United IS the pinnacle for most British players, simple as that...but don't let me stop your anti-United views getting in the way of reality.

Said my piece and staying away from the thread until it's moved on enough I wont have to read any ridiculous replies.

Bullshit. No player in their right mind would choose United over Barca or Madrid right now, as Bale proved in the summer. Hell, even Rooney wanted to leave and that would likely only have been to another English club anyway.
