People are making fun of him, but he scored more away CL KO goals in 10 minutes against Barca than Messi against all teams in the last 4 years in a CL (away KO matches).

Should I even mention Suarez?

Also has equal number of CL titles as Mats, Umtiti, Lenglet, Semedo, Firpo, Frenkie, Arthur, Puig, Alena, Griezz, Dembele, Malcom, Braithwaite, Psg and Man City combined.

:lol::lol:

Stop embarrassing yourself. He was a sub who came on in an already won game. Context matters.

On one hand, you call Barca finished and now you're putting a value of gold on goals against this Barca like it's peak Barca? Nah dawg.

I am trolling.

But numbers from both Messi and Suarez are deeply disturbing.

The numbers of goals, assists, key passes, big chances created,...of Messi are also deeply disturbing... and automatically raise a question: how is possible with such unbelievable, fantastic, not human statistics, that the team had only won 4 CL in the last 15 years?
If you did not know that he played for Barcelona, you would conclude that he had played for mid table team.

This is a team sport, Messi contributed enough, he made his part. Probably others haven't done their part ?

But yes, away goals statistic is not good.

Imo, a part of his assists and chances created come from this part:
= at Bayern, RM or City, 10 passing attempts will be distributed between 5-6 players
= at Barca, Messi makes 80% of assists.
Not only because he is a good but because everyone else are scared to try and all actions need to go through Messi.

In a team where other players will pass and shoot, imo, his numbers will drop a lot.

Again, let's see.

Because players are shitscared of creating chances themselves or NOT looking for Messi when they go forward. Every single time every barca player pushes the ball up in the last three seasons they have to look for messi. If Griezmann or Dembele are wide open, not even a glance, just pass to Messi. This becomes very predictable for top sides like Bayern. Just have two players follow Messi's movement and it's game over.

This is why I think players like Coutinho and Griezmann will play with a lot less pressure without the amigos. I love Messi but the messi-dependencia will only grow stronger if he stays.

yeah, poor coutinho. messi scarred him for life, that's why he was shit at bayern also.

yeah, poor griezmann was never a goal machine or a true striker. but no, messi intimidated him.

messi did a number on these two. hahaha

For sure numbers will drop, because unfortunately without Iniesta and Xavi, Messi had to compensate the lack or creativity of our midfield (the same would happen with statistic goals of CR, he is the main target of Juve and he was for RM).
But not for the quality of his assists and chances created: at least 50% of them came from his talent. He's always been a fantasist, a creator, with a fantastic game vision, with his dribbling (also in this case non-human statistics) can open spaces, sooo important in today's soccer: i do not think that for example Rakitic would simple "see" the possibility of a pass (assist), he do not have the talent and vision.

But you are right, soccer is a team sport and Barca and Argentina made the error to use Messi as only reference in the team, tactics was give the ball to Messi instead to use
him as an added lethal weapon to the team.

Let's see...ok... but now is 33 y.o., not fair to not take in consideration this fact.

Don't compare this bum with Griezmann please, i'm not his biggest fan but Antoine has already proven he can drop WC output in a top club, this man was the third bench option behind 31yo injury prone Perisic and injury prone Coman.

Coutinho has never been a winger and never will be.

He was behind Muller at Bayern.

They are most likely not but they can help the club in transition period. With not much money to spend what is our alternative? We can't just throw Fati, Trincao and Pedri into fire when they're not totally ready yet and most likely set them up to fail. If keeping Cou and Griezmann for a year or two will keep some pressure of the youngsters and help them to develop better and stay at the club longterm then they should stay. It's not like we can sell them for big money anyway.
