Yeah, they are definitely failed transfers in terms of adding anything to our team. They didn't add anything because they weren't good enough. I don't care about making money from transfers; we are not Ajax or Lyon. An elite club make money from WINNING, WINNING and WINNING. When we buy a player, its because we think he can add something to the team, not making money on them. You win by constantly adding quality.
Paco was another mismatch. We never ever had played with poachers before. And he isn't the first attacker who has performed in Dortmund but been shit elsewhere
Our sporting department is just shit, they play a big part of our failures the last couple of years.
From 14/15 to 18/19, who did they buy who IMPROVED our team? Umtiti? And who more? Thats four years without adding quality to our team, no wonder we keep playing veterans and getting kicked out in the CL. Our sportdirectors is shit and no wonder when we keep hiring former players who know nothing about recruiting players, now look at the professionals at Liverpool and City
What you are saying is very convincing and sounds reasonable.
I had an idea (non-fact based): what if, besides all the non-matching player examples you listed, even the good matches dont make it into the team mid-term? What if they are denied/ignored/not welcome by the rest of the team? E.g. the Messi-Suarez-Busquets-Piquet - form an informal gang of buddies knowing each other for 10 years and they "decide" who they like and who not ... childish bahaviour, unprofessional, like in school but I see this every day in companies....

you think this, in a mild form can happen at barca?
