There was a post on Twitter saying Barca players should post less on social media and increase security. Maybe they knew something was up(or because of Lewy situation). I don't know.

It isn't only a Barcelona problem, it's a big city issue everywhere. Cancelo got robbed in Manchester, Ozil in London as did Reece James.

Di maria got subbed off for PSG as his family was being held hostage.

A large part of the issue I think now is social media. You get more access to players lives before through Instagram etc, people familiar with a City could easily spot the neighbourhood and surroundings.

Ofc social media is a problem but if these criminals are well organized (and those robbing footballers are mostly professionals) they can also easily just stalk players when they're returning home from games or trainings to see where they live.

A large part of the issue is that some illiterate peasents have obscene amounts of money on their hands and flash it around. Easy prey for thieves.

Exactly. Also showing off on social media with fancy cars, watches etc. Amir Khan got targeted too in London. If you want to flaunt it prepare for the consequences especially in today's economic environment where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

That is true. The easiest method would be to enclose the district millionaires live with a fence and a gate with security like they do in some countries. That way, they can't simply take off in a car at least and have it way more difficult to get in. I fear with todays economics, such horrible actions will become more frequent.

Also I'm interested if he now pushes for a chelsea transfer. Such an event can be traumatic, especially with a family and normally you don't feel safe in your home anymore.

Lmao. That would make things worse with gated communities like Rio.

How come there is less crime in Eastern European countries and they are poorer than Western ones. Also, way way safer at night.

They're poor so less people to rob or less attractive so they travel abroad instead like with this Albanian gang who robbed and beat up Aubameyang.

Then again I was also robbed at gunpoint in Turkey half a decade ago so idk.

They're less 'multicultural'. People are less likely to commit violent acts against people they consider their own kin. In a lot of places they would also be afraid, both from law enforcers and courts that are not a laughing stock like in the West and victims/their families themselves as people live in close knit societies instead of atomized clusterfucks of modern progressive mega cities. It's also not a problem of "big cities". Japan has huge cities and far less crime. Funny people suggest Auba would be safer in London.

These were not thieves.

Robbers and would-be mass murderers armed with guns that were ready to be fired

That would be a lie and a slander towards poor. Material wealth is not determining factor of criminal behavior. US is good example, when looking region by region. Also Sweden lol.

Such a dumb take. Equivalent of "The girl was wearing a short dress, of course she was looking to get r*ped."

Like it was said above, it's easy to find out where the players live by following them or their families after game/practice.
This used to happen when the player was at a game, but now these scumbags don't give a shit anymore.

LOL @London is better and safer
