We barely beat Dynamo Kiev home and away and suddenly EL is a given for this team.

EL has many teams like Benfica, which we couldn't score a goal against in two games.

Maybe if we get some very good/outstanding transfers in January. A striker that hits the ground running?

I doubt we will get anyone decent in January imo , all hope on Ansu staying fit.

The thing is that Barca are starting to target the right players: Coman, Sterling (don't like his mentality but he's the right profile), Zyiech, Pulisic. Players who can play wing very well and have a reliable dribbling ability.

The problem is these players are going to be hard to sign for a club in our position. Even on loan. Any signing of that caliber will help us a lot.

Neymar, Dembele, Malcom, Turan were overpriced wingers with no DNA, just like the names you bring up.
Jeffren, Cuenca, Pedro, Munir were good enough "free" players with DNA.
I don't think the winger type is what Barcelona should spend money on, these types are very sufficient. It is important that they can play the tikitako and also be very willing and able to press intensely.

Even while playing Alba and Demir, Barcelona would crush Benfica 4-0 with only a good striker yesterday.

Neymar was head and shoulders above all those wide players named for Barca as having 'DNA' and wasnt overpriced at all.

Usual nonsense.

Likes of Jeffren, Cuenca and Munir were never 'good enough' and Munir was not even a wide player anyway.

Neymar? You can't be serious?

Neither serghei or Bobo are right.

Yes, we need good wingers. And Neymar was exceptional. But picking up all the injured dross from other big teams isn't the solution either.

Barca DNA Jeffren is currently in Thailand playing for Lamphun Warrior.

:koeman:

And he scored against Real Madrid, he was very much good enough for the bench for a couple of years. Didn't cost much. Pedro was THE best winger the club had, playing in the best versions of the team.

Neymar was one of the best in the world at that time, but he cost a lot directly and indirectly (increased reliance on individual brilliance afterwards, leading to some terrible signings with the majority of the fans very much on board until the players failed)

Jeffren was never good enough. He's behind Gio dos Santos, Munir, Sandro and Cuenca in terms of usefulness, and these are behind Tello.

And you're way too far-fetched with Neymar. He came, won titles, was among the best players in the world and earned us more than double we paid for him when he left. All in all a great transfer, shady Rosell deal aside.

What then happened after has nothing to do with Neymar. Look at it this way: would you rather we didn't buy Neymar in 2013 and him most likely going to Madrid instead?

Some day Bobo needs to explain to me his dislike for Ansu when advocating for Munir, Sandro and co. Apart from his need to be a contrarian. Makes zero sense, especially considering how "sharp" Fati plays (unlike Neymar).
