Am I going to answer your question? of course I will, what question was it?
What makes me more happy? A trophy makes me more happy, but would I prefer a CL win but endless debt, vs no trophies, but a great near future?
Give me the great near future, because once you're gone from the top it's extremely difficult to get back and to stay there. Yes I am serious.
Finances is everything nowdays. Business is not a secondary factor. For a little kid watching a match, they wouldn't take money into consideration, they'll see it as 11 players vs 11 players: That's basic thinking.
Business is everything, it's why Serie A is dogshit, it's why Milan is shit, why Inter are shit, it's why Arsenal are coming to the fore now, it's why Barcelona and Madrid dominate Spanish and European football, it's why the likes of City and Chelsea have emerged.
Business is the primary factor for a football club to succeed. I use to shout "WENGER OUT" after 2 year of going trophy-less like a idiotic, moronic, super-fickle football fan. Then I wised up to the position Wenger and we were in from 2005 up until summer 2013
I'm not blind to the fact that context matters, and so does long term planning. But it is all in the pursuit of success which is ultimately decided on the field. I know this. Building a strong platform increases future success. That's our thinking and mentality.
Question for those who think it's easy to build a £400m stadium and stay at top. Why have Chelsea, L'pool, Spurs, E'ton done it?
