Or it could motivate the whole club. In 2008 we had to give a guard of honour to madrid and lost 4-1. The nxt season we won the treble and smacked them 6-2 along the way.

We didn't lack the quality to do it, Liverpool do though. We bought their only quality player in years.

What a player he has been and still is! Would take him over nearly all the defenders in the world still. Fantastic player and an even better Leader.
Would never want to see this cunt at my beloved club. I'd probably stop watching football if that happened.

I hope if there's a guard of honour, that Gerrard starts. Rub it in one last time before he pisses off to America. :D

Hmm I read that some Manchester fans say(redcafe) that Smalling is better than Pique and Boateng, is he really that good?

Don't you know that he's arguably the most gifted cb in the modern game. Some say he alone is better than Fabio Cannavaro and Paolo Maldini put togethet and with the technique and vision of the great Zinedine Yazid Zidane himself. He's basically the Messi of centrebacks.

Smalling and Phil Jones are both mid-table quality in my opinion. The two of them have been at United for years and have not improved one iota. No wonder Van Gaal is desperate for CBs.

It's nothing short of blasphemy mentioning Smalling in the same sentence as Pique, let alone comparing the two. I hope it was sarcasm.

Smalling has been quality this season, massive improvement over his recent years, but of course nowhere near Pique and Boateng

United will need massive spending (a la Real Madrid a few years back) to return to the elite of European football.

With the current market, they will need anywhere between 300m and 400m euros to re-create a world-class team. Thankfully for them, South East Asia got their asses covered.
