I am a big Welbeck fan but today reminded me of many frustrating moments he gave us....He always looks good but contributes very little...

Well I'm not too sure about even finishing ahead of them but Smalling's performance was a real positive and If he can form a decent partnership with someone than we should be fine defensively..

I've often thought professional linesmen do an amazing job when you look at all the variables they are handling. There is the occasional howler, but most of the time, they are dead-on, even with extremely close calls.

Don't people complain about the actual main referee and not the linesmen (although there are always bound to be errors in offside calls since they too are only human).
Also most of the offside calls are quite obvious(like a striker not getting back quickly enough and being offside by a few metres), hence the high percentage.
But yeah, the linesmen do a pretty good job, don't know how they keep an eye on both the player that is about to kick the ball and the last man/defensive line with such precision, it all happens in a split second.

Of course, but it shows that the refs are getting the vast majority of decisions correctly (which is never recognized) and do not deserve the stick that they get in the press or from fans.

I always want to dare all those people dissing the officials to go ref a game like the Clasico and come back and report how they fared.

Important game tomorrow. Southampton-ManC, It will decide who takes the 2nd spot. Hopefully Southampton takes the 3pts, last season the game ended 1-1 at St Mary's. Osvaldo with an amazing golazo then.
