Doubt it. Goes way deeper than just a player. They lost 7-2 to Villa with Van Dijk on the field. Some team values in this side are just present at more diluted levels. Considerably more dilluted.

You had them winning the league at a canter little over a couple months ago back then it was all about the reasons City were done and players not responding.

At the beginning of the season, yes, but it turned out that dip in form was more the new norm for Liverpool. Now it's gonna be hard for them to recover the spark without getting rid of some key players.

Fee months back and after defeat to Villa.

Their biggest issue this season has been CB injuries and it has impacted the whole team.

People forgot about Man City last year? they had a down season too after just getting 198 points in two seasons. Liverpool just had 196 points in two seasons. The players are burned out a bit and need to get motivated again. They'll come back strong.

Sure, it's possible. But it doesn't always go like this. Also, you sabotage the next season to a big degree if you end up playing in the Europa League.

Telling everyone how it is when couple months back had Liverpool as winning league easily, players amongst best in world and up there with Bayern for CL and not trying to give lessons on why they are fucked since won the league.

Slow down you are far too quick to jump to conclusions as with City.

Far and away biggest reason for their slump has been injuries to CBs.

There is something special about watching Liverpool lose, especially at Anfield.

What is it now, 5 losses in a row at home. Hope the streak continues.

Solid performance by Chelsea.
Tuchel is good at those narrow wins against big opposition.
But I reckon he will miss many points with a lot of draws against mid-table teams

Truthfully Liverpool have been flat since returning from the first lockdown. The signs were there pretty much not long after they lost 3-0 to Watford in February 2020 that they were slowing down a bit. Obviously not to the extent now but it has been a gradual fade out.

I think the joy of winning the league turned into a bit of anti-climax as well with empty stadiums and no real celebration. Under normal circumstances they would of won the league the year before too with that 97 point finish.
