A Liverpool friend was talking about this, when result got ugly Manu should some reckless tackles and Liverpool preferred a lesser win in order to protect themselves from injuries.
OTOH Barca remained cute and clean, so why not humiliate them?

Exactly. Hammer those Bayernians next time and they won't humiliate us 8-2.

The amazing thing is that Ole got merked by Jose's Spurs at home in same fashion last year.

Now even though his team is even more off balance than back then and noting way worse results with Cristiano being the resident headline king, and it's Liverpool rather than Lucas Moura (which arguably should be an ameliorating factor rather than something to hold feet to fire over), his future is in big doubt.

Shows you that decision making over at United didn't improve that much.

I don't think Ole is as big a bum as folk think, though has had shit games and results (Villarreal). United clearly not his level, but I don't even think there's anybody who'd be a better fit. Ole seems kind of a Lopetegui level and can work with younger talent over longer term leading to them moving to bigger clubs. Maybe good fit for somewhere like Aston Villa.

Funny stuff

Lopetegui is not tactically clueless like Ole.
Ole is the most limited coach in a top team. Knows how to teach only 1 thing: play the ball quickly in transition and counter.
That's about it.
He has no fck clue what to do when this 'plan' does not work

Im not a fan of hard tackles but if this is the only solution to stop bayern then we need to do it....

Yes Liverpool suffered 2 injuries in the game and now have 5 senior midfielders out injured with just 3 remaining, so Liverpool eased up after Pogba was sent off to prevent further injuries.

When both teams were near similar levels in 14/15, we overpowered Bayern without too much trouble.

When Barca was much stronger in 08/09, we demolished them 4-0 in 45 mins and then took it easy on them.

When Bayern has been much stronger in 12/13 or 19/20, they demolished us and didn't take it easy.

It's who they are. I just hope we get to play them again when we're much stronger than them, and when we do, that we absolutely stomp them into the ground.

Conte is a massive bust in Europe, for all his league prowess...not to mention he's a short term fix

United are a club in chaos.

Goretzka, Lewy, and co will be scared shit at the thought of Alba, Busi, Roberto, Garcia, or Pique putting a hard tackle on them...

The only "physically tough" players we have are either: 1) rapidly turning into soyboys (FDJ, Depay); 2) injured (Araujo); 3) Not even old enough to have a full license (Gavi)
