Honestly if we don't end up winning La Liga this season you could argue the Lewandowski signing have been a failure because the only way that signing even made sense was if we could win trophies now. Not in 2-3 years, but immediately. He doesn't fit into a long or medium-term plan.

It was meant to bring money in Europe also let alone challenge for CL.

Also there is nothing to say could not have spent that money on younger player and still won La Liga.

Lewa needs to perform tonight if he wants to keep up his cache as the best/joint best striker in the world.

Because, so far he's not delivered enough in the big games.

Everyone would rather have Osimhen than lewa, well maybe except temp.

But doesn't work like that, unfortunately.

Worst was that game at Allianz. How many good chances did he waste? 2-3? When we had all the momentum too.

Could have probably got Oshimen for less of a cost on books than Lewa.

But they wanted as instant success as could get and not looking longer term.

If they were looking for younger strikers he would have been one of obvious names last summer.

Barca look a bit static at CF with Lewa at times due to his lack of pace.

Good player but contributes to team being one dimensional at times.

We'll probably be looking at replacing Lewandowski in 2024, except we'll probably not even have the money to sign a 30m striker then

Maybe they wake up and sell the club by then to someone who can pump the money required to compete against these privately owned clubs.
