PL is an exclusive billionaire club these days, when LaLiga is basically millionaire club outside few teams. That's an issue. Financial power in PL isn't just top6 or 7. Almost all owners are loaded as ****.

Wolves are third last in the PL and just signed player from Atletico for 35mil potentially. That's sick.

Spain and LaLiga is losing battle for investors. They need to change that somehow.. Tough salary limits won't help for sure.

Florentino is right about a superleague to compete with epl
You have to unfortunately or in the end they will become like the dutch and Portugese league. A breeding ground/ateppingstone for the EPL which will be a billionaire pissing contest. More than it is now.

Yup. Spain needs to internationalize it's product, I think that's the first step. Their attempts to do it thus far are tame and half hearted (such as playing the odd game early, telecasting the odd game on facebook in Asia, etc.). They need to completely revamp the marketing and the messaging, starting with better production value and more focus on doing things in English.

Put on any EPL game on the TV and put on a big la Liga game, say Atletico vs Sevilla and the difference is like night and day. The production quality (camera angle, crowd noise) as well as boring and bland English commentary - it's no wonder most new fans gravitate towards the EPL. Then you have all the stuff around the game - various pre and post match shows, weekly roundups - the quality of this stuff around the EPL (in English) is unmatched. The English pre and post match shows are quite pathetic for La Liga tbh. Everything just looks that much more boring.

La Liga has a good product, they just have no idea how to sell it. They have a classic old-school Spanish mentality about how they do things.

Goosebumps listening to the YNWA rendition again.

We're such a special club. Being an LFC fan in my lifetime has been sad: way more lows than highs but fuck me, I wouldn't trade the feeling of this club for any other club no matter how much they win.

Very few clubs in the world are close to being as romantic as this great club.

Stage 1 is characterized by an unusual lethargy and chronic lack of focus. Stage 4 is when you need to pay other clubs to get him.

He's still elite imo, but every defender makes a mistake here and there. Doesn't have the resume or longevity to be the best in history though lol. Probably not even top five.

Guys like Nesta, Baresi, Cannavaro, Desaily, Staam. Not to forget guys from this and the past generation who were all elite for 5+ years and won a lot like Chiellini, Ferdinand, Ramos, Pique if you'd like, etc.

He's getting old now.

Despite what Messi and Modric are leading people to think, most top players don't stay at the top level into their 30s.
