I don't know anything about Amorim outside of a few CL games, so I won't judge him yet

It's a hard job having to fix the club, when the manager before you was so ass and bought so many shit players.

Take that into consideration on top of him playing a totally different system, he will need a few summers to turn things around.

But him losing so many games is acceptable,he needs to understand the players he has are both shit and not for his system and try something new to get results until the summer.
I think he is probably a decent manager, and better than Ten Hag. However, this job is way too big for him and probably anyone else. They are unfixable.

You're welcome
Horatio. I have noticed you trying to claim Ten Hag was the scapegoat here, because they are still struggling. It's poor logic and grounded in bad faith.

Just because the team is still struggling doesn't mean Ten Hag would be doing better. It isn't either/or. Ten Hag wasn't good enough, the players aren't good enough, and Amorim way well not be either.

They'd be still struggling big time had Ten Hag stayed. This is akin to thinking injured players are brilliant when they are out and the team is still getting hammered.
No, not what I said. Just said he always had players behind him until end. Even when results went sour team went all in only to give it away many times in late stage of the game. But they were creating plenty from beginning til end of game.

Obviously Amorim should be given time and get some players he wants. But seems like players have given up already before started.
Likeable chap. Wish him good coaching career

Fair enough. Yeah I seen you say that about the dressing room - I don't think he lost them either, the players are and were trying, they're just poor technically and physically. The idea they lack loads of effort is just a mask as their fans don't want to admit they lack ability - obviously effort is easier to fix than lack of ability so their fans delude themselves it is the former they lack.

Just seen you in a few other posts say Ten Hag is vindicated. Maybe you were jesting but he isn't at all, football isn't as black and white as that.

Hope all is well anyway mate and you have a good New Year tonight.

Size of the fanbase plays a major role in these conversations though........
They definitely got the biggest fan base in the UK by an absolute country mile that’s for sure.

Lucky they were good when football starting getting broadcast more regularly in Asia, America etc for the international supporters but that will fade as they continue to win nothing. Most of the youngsters have probably been coaxed into supporting United like their glory hunting parents in this country to keep them popular.

How many fans do they have in Asia? And why don't those fans follow them on all different types of social media, like they do with Madrid and Barcelona.

Are all their fans in China? Lol.

I laugh but seriously, I'm sure they have fans in Asia but that's something every top teams says.

I think they are probably the 3rd most popular team In the world but the first two are way ahead of them these days.

I'm going off what I see on all social media and taking into consideration all these Asians "fans" are fans of more than one club.

In the summer Bayern said they had 400m fans in Asia, those are probably the exact same half a billion man uts fans keep bringing up.

Because a lot of Man United's influence in Asian pre-dates social media more from the late 1990's and early 2000's when they were actually good plus they had that debacle where they pulled out of the FA Cup to participate in the club world cup in Osaka which probably helped their reputation over there. I would imagine a lot of the younger fans today would only support United through their parents.

You only need to see Old Trafford on a match day, it is filled with Asian tourists. Despite the actual football team being absolutely litter, the stadium is sold out every week without fail.

There are certainly a number of metrics to judge the size of a football club which United fails miserably but it in the fanbase size category, United would place very highly. I would agree that fans in different continents are more likely to be interchangeable with which club they support though. No way would they maintain this level of popularity through another 10-15 years of mediocrity.
