Good post.

We peaked super early too, had a bigger dip run of results and turned it around though.

So I think that leaves a question mark for Slot too though, as the downward trajectory has been slow but steady for a while now.

It all came a bit easy too early I guess. Their big wins in Europe, PSG and Real, out of form.

Their big win domestically in City, proven to be way off the pace this season.

We peaked in Sept-Oct, but that lasted much less than Pool's peak from Oct to Jan

Might be part of the reason, we are peaking now also

You're welcome
It’s still a great season for Liverpool winning premier.

As Liverpool fan would be excited to see what Slot will do with next transfer. Since thus has left the group as was. He’s planning to rid them of 4 players at least.

I don't see many Liverpool fans getting excited about next transfers tbh.

Good luck for them replacing Salah, he's probably one of the best players in their history.

"Probably" makes it sound like there is a doubt about that.

Both him and VVD are undeniably 2 of the best players to ever play in their history.

And TAA is one of their best players too, and they might lose all 3. Could even push Alison out to make a spot for Mamardisvhille.

Without a turnaround in renewals, they will be rebuilding next season, instead of tweeking.

Side bar.

Lots of talk about Isak and rightfully so, but Newcastle has an absolutely beastly of a Midfield.

Bruno,tonali and joelinton.

Bruno or Tonali beside Pedri would level up our Midfield instantly.

That's a bit disrespectful to their history mate.
Suarez, Gerrard, Owen, Rush, Keegan, Daglish, Hansen, and tons of others.
You could just say for the modern era, or the last 20 years

Thankfully cannot find a player thread on the clown, so I will put it here. Joey Barton with a suspended sentence for hitting his wife.

He should really be in jail, but think she stayed with him and that helped him. He has a long list of felonies and is a total thug. Horrible guy. Men who hit women really are cowards.

Thought this was interesting. It's quite an unpredictable league so I am doing very well being top 10 in the world from 74,000

EPL

Predictability on Superbru Football (average % of people correctly predicting the outcome of a game): 47% (8th most predictable of 13 active tournaments on Superbru Football)

Most unpredictable team (average % of players correctly predicting the outcome of a specific team's games: Brighton (30.2%)

Might interest you as a Brighton liker @Messi983

Not surprised to see that.

AFAIK Brighton have 3rd best record against the Big 6 (I never really liked that term but especially this season when Spurs and United are shite and City also have a bad season but I guess most people still back these bigger clubs to win against Brighton) behind only Liverpool and Arsenal.

And then they lost against Everton, drew vs Southampton and Ipswich, all at home where they were definitely expected to win. And also dropped points against Leicester and Wolves after leading 2-0 in 85th minute in both games. Would probably be 3rd now if not bottling against these bottom 5 teams.

But they've been in good form ever since that 7-0 spanking at Forest and hopefully they've learned the lesson because on paper have quite favorable schedule for rest of the season but mostly play against those opponents that they usually struggle against. Also Livepool at home in next to last round but they should already have the title wrapped up long before that game.

Yeah I hate that top 6 term as well because Spurs, United and Chelsea have been wank at various points in recent seasons.

It could be a tactical quirk - as we know Brighton love when you press them in their own third so they can play round you and play through it, and hence get up the park and generate goalscoring chances. There's a lot more to them as a team than that, but it is a part of their game. These bigger teams are most likely to play on the front foot, giving Brighton the chance to play through their press. Also, Brighton are a pressing team themselves out of possession and these bigger teams equally take more chances in dangerous areas, favouring Brighton.

Whereas the smaller teams sit deeper and make it difficult to press and ask Brighton to play through a low block - makes it harder.

It's not a similar style to Brighton, but it is like how Rashford scores more against big teams than small, because he gets space to run in behind, whereas against lesser teams he and United couldn't break down their low block.

Either way, I too like Brighton, and I am pretty sure they are my least well predicted team this season (in addition to players generally), so let's see how they finish. I have added the schedule you allude to - some banana skins here but in general not bad as you imply.

Something maybe overlooked is they don't have much traveling to do - all their games are in the south, London farthest north, other than the Wolves game. They won't have any north in the FA Cup either. This lack of travel and lack of Europe could help them.
