No idea how you can blame the referees after yesterday. If Barcelona lost in that kind of fashion I would be furious at our team first and foremost.

My thoughts:

With those two gifts we deserved to lose the match given we couldn't score another goal to compensate, but we did not deserve to be eliminated on that PK call. That was a travesty and a robbery. But I knew as soon as they reviewed it what the decision would be. And so did all of you.

I know people will disagree because it's PSG and everyone hates us, but I'd be saying the same regardless of the teams involved.

Yesterday was nowhere near as controversial as us vs Chelsea or Chelsea vs us or Bayern vs Real.

But that said, if you are in CL knockouts a lot, you will get robbed from time to time. Except Real Madrid. They don't get robbed.

I'm certain the UEFA MONEY MAFIA would rather showcase the talents of Mason Greenwood and Chong than the retired Brazilian legend Neydive and "What did you do at 19?" Mbappe in the upcoming QFs.

FOLLOW THE MONEY, FOLKS. :papaperez:

PSG has only dominated a few Ligue 1 clubs so thoroughly:

You have to sacrifice your objectivity at the alter of hate to pretend United deserved anything from this match up.

I understand you're angry. But that truly wasn't a robbery. Some things go in your favor (for instance, relative movement of the hand and the ball), but there was enough to call a pen. I wouldn't say it's a clear cut one (seeing a normal replay), but not scandalous either. Some calls in Barca's favor were much more controversial.

I dont think anyone argues United were the better team. Thats why its utterly ridiculous blaming the refs for a 50/50 (at best) call. PSG should have never been in that situation.

I'm more hurt than angry, and even then I'm coming to terms with what happened. But as I said, whether that call involved PSG or Girona that was a bogus PK call to decide any match, let alone one as important as yesterday's. It wasn't clear, obvious, nor intentional. It didn't even stop a good look on goal.

clear penalty, the intention of the player has no meaning whatsoever. rules changed for this season

You’re wrong:

The actual rule (find it on page 113) says: “Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm.” Note the word “deliberate” there.

The rule also adds these important caveats:

“The referee must take the following into consideration:

the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand)
the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball)
the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement.”

Kimpembe … didn’t appear to do anything of the above. It would be almost impossible to argue that a man with his back turned could, without any vision, “deliberately” block a shot with his hand, unless the ref is arguing he had Spidey-Sense.

Not even close to a PK.

According to the current rules it's a PK as many current and former refs have said. If you want to complain about something then complain about the rule change that was confirmed ahead of this season.
