Lmao ofcourse its the referees fault again.

Fucking losers.

That was a 100% penalty btw.

This is why they are such a big joke in Europe. The same fragile mentality flows from the top of the PSG hierachy to the players and then finally, to their fans.

You'd think the way PSG fans boasts about their club and the quality of their players that they would be able to easily demolish the RESERVE SIDE United team that was the laughing stock of England just 2 months ago. Nevermind a 'controversial' 93 minute call, how could the mighty PSG even let it get to that stage against such a weak United side?

THIS was literally the team that PSG capitulated to:

...And yet here they are blaming the world for their humiliation.

It's sad and pathetic, but yet, may it long continue! As no doubt it will give us many more of these wonderful nights like yesterday and the remontada.

Dawg.

I'm more hurt than angry, and even then I'm coming to terms with what happened. But as I said, whether that call involved PSG or Girona that was a bogus PK call to decide any match, let alone one as important as yesterday's. It wasn't clear, obvious, nor intentional. It didn't even stop a good look on goal.

its one of those calls that earlier in the match in a pre-VAR world it would probably be given if the ref sees it but that late and pivital in a game of this magnitude? i doubt a ref would have the balls to call it. in the VAR era we've entered, these decisions will and are being given now. i want football to be fair but letting refs consult their robots and having everything so precise is killing part of the game for me and the amount of fucking time we have to wait to know if a goal is allowed is dreadful.. basically if you score a goal now, you might aswell run over to the VAR box before celebrating

VAR needs re-thinking or atleast a 3 challenge system like tennis. players need to adapt as well because unless you're Ramos, you won't get away with these things anymore

You know.. Someone pointed this before as well.. That winning the UCL is not exactly just being the best team..You also need a ton of luck as well as the experience of playing these big matches..I am sure PSG is getting there right now but it is going to take time and they are sadly not one of the European heavy weights, so to speak. Big calls are always going to go to the big clubs here and there..I mean Real Madrid rode on a ton of luck to win 3 times back to back CL's. If i remember Chelsea were undone quite a few times (either through bad luck or just one bad play) when they thought of buying their way to a trophy and the one time they won they were incredibly lucky as hell and weren't trying to buy their way that time ..it just happens

Coming to the match itself, PSG only have themselves to blame.. 2-0 up from the away leg and you capitulate to that team?.. This is typical small club mentality right there... It shouldnt have come to the time that you are arguing about a blown call.. The entire 90 minutes was a disaster show by PSG and NO, the ref did not blow it, the 11 plus the coach did. Just check the Man Utd line up as well. They should ideally be losing anyway..and for them to get anything out of it, let alone a win

UEFA provided an official explanation of their penalty:

https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2594607.html?iv=true&iv=true

Paris Saint-Germain – Manchester United FC
Penalty award - 90'

The VAR, after checking various different angles available to him, recommended to the referee an on-field review following the penalty area incident.

Given that the referee did not recognise the incident clearly during live play (referred to as serious missed incident in the VAR protocol) an on-field review was conducted.

Following the on-field review, the referee confirmed that the distance that the ball travelled was not short and the impact could therefore not be unexpected. The defender’s arm was not close to the body, which made the defender’s body bigger thus resulting in the ball being stopped from travelling in the direction of the goal. The referee, therefore, awarded a penalty kick.

All the above-mentioned decisions were made in full compliance with the VAR protocol.

Very respectable decision.

No doubt about it the official made the right call.

this is what i've been saying everytime.

That's why you have deffenders position their hands to their chests when they go in front of someone who is about to shoot.

Are the french farmers even aware on how football is supossed to be played or do they do whatever they want in their league ?

Incredible to go so far in the CL without even being aware of the rules.

Absolutelly sickening.

Again , this is how you position yourself as a defender in front of someone who is about to shoot , while being in the penalty area.

From the same game :

Hands together glued to your body.

Once again , lol @ people thinking United shouldn't have got a penalty.

Farmers league is the problem for psg

It is not a farmer league and it is not the problem.

Even freaking Rennes that is a laughing stock in France for being the loser club has managed to beat Arsenal.

Not saying that Arsenal is a world beater but comparatively, they are way "stronger" than Rennes.

PSG gave away the game to a reserve team. No excuse about the league or anything. It all has to do with PSG weak mentality. The league is an answer for the weak. Other french clubs have done way better against better opposition with less good squad.

What the hell did I just read, dude? No offense.

Ligue 1 IS a Farmer's League by all accounts and all measurements. Compared to the elite leagues that is.
Mentioning Rennes is pretty pathetic considering the fact that they are the sole representative of Ligue 1 left in Europe as of early March. In December only QSG and Rennes were left. Is this supposed to speak highly of Ligue 1? For all the elite leagues in Europe such a season would be absolutely shocking.

The problem is that all the players (most of them foreigners and not from Paris) are mercenaries with no love, dedication or attachment to your club. A club that they never dreamt about playing for as kids and never knew existed in the first place, most probably. Only money and false promises of instant success in CL (by buying yourself to success and employing and firing managers) keeps them there in the first place. That and never being allowed to leave (Verratti, Silva, Marquinhos, Rabiot etc.) and your club never having developed a winning mentality. Precisely partially due to the above mentioned reasons and others.

Ligue 1 clubs have won a grand total of 2 European trophies. 1 CL (clear case of corruption) by OM in 1993 and 1 Cup Winner's Cup by QSG in 1996 if I am not wrong. In 60+ years. Both clubs having more money than most clubs in Europe back then as well yet only had those results to show for. Nobody has done better than QSG in Europe (of French clubs) either in the past 10 years. Not even close.
