Ugly first half for PSG against Nice, but they came out strong in the second to secure the win to stay atop Ligue 1. A few observations from the match:

- Pastore truly is playing like one the best players in the world. It's taken him awhile to come around but now that he has he's pure class. In form, there's not many attacking players more pleasing to watch.

- It's good to have Lucas Moura back. Neither his form or fitness are quite there yet, but even still he's a threat every time he receives the ball at his feet due to his passing, penetration, and vision. Set Pastore up for his first goal but was relatively quiet beyond that.

- Serge Aurier is quite a bit better than VDW, both in offensive and defensive duties. He's last two performances have reminded me why he earned the title of best RB of Ligue 1 last season.

- I've been on this wagon for a while now, but PSG needs to sign Jordan Amavi before someone else does(Lyon?). He gives you a lot of what Maxwell does in regard to technical skill and forward movement, but at 21 years old is a much stronger tackler/defensive player. Thought he stood out today for Nice, matched up well against Lucas and Aurier.

- Rabiot is coming along nicely. The more his confidence grows the more commanding he becomes. I've noted fewer and fewer mistakes from his as the season has progressed.

- Cavani and Lavezzi need to be shipped out and replaced by Felipe Anderson or Memphis Depay. They're not up to PSG's standard of technical skill imo, and neither are adequately competent at the skill they were brought in for: finishing.

- I don't like the 4-3-3 for PSG. I understand Blanc is trying to mimic Barca and RM, but I think Paris would be better served with a formation more focused on attacking from the center as it's players are more comfortable from the inside than out. I'm curious if Blanc stays this summer or if Nasser goes after someone like Klopp?

No word on Cabaye's fabulous performance?

Either he's the invisible man, or just makes an appearance so people can remember he's shit.

You sure? I could've sworn I read about someone coming in May or something. Or was that for something else?

You're wrong.

They hired Jérome Touboul, who originally was a journalist for l'Equipe till last week.

He becomes director of the communication with the medias.

Nothing to do with sporting responsibilities.

Aa ok. I thought google translate was reliable :neymar:

They really need to get on that SD thing though

No worries. Even supposed professional medias like ********* (english version) uses google translate sometimes (if not all the time) and publish wrong infos.

I meant g-oal.com here. See? They are so unreliable that Bojan rightly banned their asses here.

Sporting Director? Nope. Of course not. Why would they? They are totally fine paying 25M+ players like Cabaye who are awful and useless. Perfectly fine saying Sirigu is one of the best GKs in the world etc etc.

They don't need anyone. Yeah they don't need a person, they need a brain.

I think you're overly pessimistic, tbh. Paris has hit on way more players than they've missed on, and though they've spent a lot of money, at least they've done so on a sustainable foundation. So they missed on Cabaye, practically everyone else they've brought in has been a revelation. In fact, most things regarding football operations have gone better than most could have imagined, my only wish being that the Qatari's had/would invest(ed) in building a new stadium.

We both know Sirigu won't be manning the penalty box for much longer, whether Arreola be given a shot or someone else is brought in.

We had a Sporting Director when we got verratti, pastore AND marquinhos.

So nothing to do with what I am complaining here  .

Dunno if I was clear or not, I meant PSG NEEDS a sporting director. They badly need one.

Leonardo's departure was unexpected wasn't it? And aren't they looking to pick up a SD this summer?

Hey, Bertus; Depay, Anderson, Lacazette, or Pogba? Curious which you'd prefer to see added this summer, and which you'd think Paris has the best chance at signing to the club.

Also, how confident do you feel about holding onto Pastore? If we lose him, I think I'd rather have one of Anderson/Depay/Lacazette than Pogba. Think the former would even leave Paris with the flexibility to go after Amavi as well. Could be an exciting summer.

My guts tell me we will sign Dybala. Especially since his agent said today that PSG leads the battle with a 45M euros offer.

I expect no one else amongs your list.

I think Pastore will renew.

Would be a tad disappointed if Dybala is all Paris managed with the talent available this summer. I feel Paris is a marquee signing or two away from being a top 3 in Europe, but I'm not sure Dybala is that player.

I'd read today that president/owner of PSV came out and stated that Paris bid for Depay during the winter transfer window, but that they'd have to up their bid if they wanted his signature. Said Paris is competing primarily with City and United, and that it would come down to the most appropriate bid. Any rumor of this in French media?

Well, weren't they the ones who turned the video in and got them banned for what was said just outside their locker room?

Think I read that's gonna change starting next season. The way things are handled that is

Forgot to reply to this post, sorry.

No, Nasser thinks he does an excellent job alone (with Létang's shitty help). He has no plan to sign a sporting director anytime soon.

Nasser and QSI brought a lot to PSG, but sometimes I don't understand their management.
