Nasser on UCL and clubs future:

Khelaifi, however, first started discussing the club's recent exit from the Champions League stating that "we have to think a lot about our own mistakes. We eliminated Mourinho's Chelsea which was a historical achievement for our club, then we lost against a great Barcelona side. If we calculate the price of Barcelona's attacking trio - € 550 million to be precise - you can see that it is more than we have spent in total these past 4 years. Everyone says that we have invested a lot but also other clubs have invested a lot and will continue to do so. We want to go as far as we possibly can but we were faced against the best team in Europe. We don't throw away anything from this years Champions League, it's all served as a great experience for us."

The PSG President was then asked if this season concludes a cycle to which he replied: "You can't yet speak of a cycle being concluded, but we have to think about how to rebuild the team. We have 5 or 6 emerging players and we won't change everyone because you also need to have experienced players. Blanc will definitely be our coach next year, he will not leave the club and he won't resign. I was very disappointed with how he has been treated, he became a World Champion in 1998, and as a coach he did great things with Bordeaux, worked well with the French national team and has done excellently well with us. And also he is young, French, I think the critcism against him has been unfair. We are en route to winning all 4 domestic titles this season, this is something historic and we could write history similarly to what was done in 1998. For me it's unthinkable that we won't win the Ligue 1, I'm very optimistic and confident."

For those that hadn't seen it, Thijs Slegers on Memphis Depay:

He is deciding on his future. There are many clubs (mainly from England) interested who have informed about him, currently these 3 are 'in the lead' to sign him: Manchester United, PSG and Liverpool. (He didn't want to name the other clubs)

He likes the PL. MUFC have got a trainer who likes him, they'll probably play CL and they can offer him good wages. They have the most plus-points to sign him.

PSG (Thijs is close friends with Zlatan since his Ajax days so knows a bit about PSG) have left a good impression on him, Thijs has been told by his sources. Laurent Blanc left a good impression on him and is a nice man, the owners are nice people too. They have less plus-points but they do have alot of money - Memphis could choose for financial stability if he wants. They've got a good team and are serious contenders for the CL.

Liverpool. They play in the PL and he might fancy a lesser contract with more gametime. If he decides that this is the most important thing so he might choose them as his first step. He doesn't think he will choose for them since they don't have CL, Rodgers hasn't won anything in 3 years now so he might have doubts about his long term future there - a new trainer might not fancy him.

Pogba, who left Manchester United to join the Serie A giants in 2012, has consistently been linked with a move to his country of birth, with mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain reportedly the favourites to secure his signature. And it has been revealed that the Frenchman travelled to Monaco to meet PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

However, Marotta has audaciously claimed that the talk was merely ‘casual’ and that a potential move to the French capital was not discussed.

"I think that it's a display of admiration for one of our players and we're honoured by it," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

"It just goes to show that the decision we took several years ago [in signing Pogba] was the right one and a rewarding one, not only for what he's done on the field, but for the admiration he enjoys from other clubs.

"But it doesn't mean we want to put him on the market. His meeting was probably just a casual meeting in which they spoke about football. Certainly it was not down to us wanting to sell Pogba."

....

THE VIEW FROM FRANCE

Vincent Bregevin, Eurosport France: We guess the meeting was not about the weather… Pogba is a primary target for PSG and it’s pretty certain that this has been discussed during the meeting, whatever Marotta says. Juve should be prepared to lose Pogba this summer. Many top teams are looking at him, teams that can pay higher wages than Juventus. It will be hard for Juve to retain him. A move to PSG seems to be a real possibility. PSG will likely get €70m to spend in the summer market, and this is more or less Pogba’s price. PSG also have players to put in exchange, like Cavani who seems to be a target for Juve. Question mark is about Pogba: if Real or Barca are after him, he might prefer join one of them rather than signing for Paris.

THE VIEW FROM ITALY

Ilaria Bottura, Eurosport Italy: We, too, think that this meeting wasn’t about the best restaurant in Paris… Marotta is too smart to tell the truth. Anyway, Juventus should be worried: Pogba is a very attractive player and several clubs are interested in him. In this specific case, PSG are a good team to have a conversation with because Juventus are following Edinson Cavani, who could be a counterpart.

Would PSG be a good choice for Pogba? Maybe yes, because the club has a lot of outstanding players, and because Paul could be back home in France. But it is not know which is his preferred club, because, as we just said about Marotta, Juventus are able to persuade players to avoid questions about transfers - Carlos Tevez to Boca Juniors is the most clear and recent example.
