Quique Setien

You're welcome
Messi usually has a drop of scoring form in January-february. But he really hasn't regressed. He has more involvement in moves and tracks back way more. He has outrageous assist stats lately. Some let offs with his dribbles but also some amazing dribbles per game. Gets fouled a lot without a foul given too. I would say he is himself, but age creeps in slowly..

Agree that his dribbling has been solid this season. It’s just that every time he initates one, opposing team resorts to shirt-pulling and fouls. Already lost count how many times I have seen it happen this season. He has lost some pace, but it could improve once he recovers from the supposed injury and Setien’s training regime.

Of course he continues to influence the play of the team, especially in terms of scoring chances but no one can credibly assess his scoring form considering he has virtually no help or link up play of note in the final third - injuries and poor depth have left him absolutely isolated. Defenses can focus even more on him now since there is no consistent scoring threat otherwise. Griezmann started to develop some chemistry with Suarez but that progress has been derailed by injury & a coaching/playing change

He is quite literally having to take on even more responsibility, not to mention while carrying an injury. I don't want to jinx it but this is where the concerns about an injury enter into it due to overload. Hopefully Setien & his staff are managing this wisely

The mismanagement of this football club, it beggars belief. Early elections have to be called while ensuring we don't fail to land our intended summer targets

They manage to handle our financial business pretty well it seems (having the greatest team of all time as legacy of course), but sporting wise it's like an amature club. Amazing!

I want to see more of the Ansu - Griezmann - Messi combination. I think this will set a base to what we'll need to buy in attack this summer.

Griezmann adapting as a 9 would solve so many of our problems.

Griezmann wont magically evolve into a sufficient 9. But Ansu-Griezmann-Messi with Vidal/Arthur-Busquets-Frenkie behind is probably the most technical team on the planet, so when things click we might have a shot at titles. But this approach is very error prone, thats why longterm a real #9 is badly needed.

Looking at the games. We performed the worst with 3-5-2. 4-4-2 the best match.

I disagree. IMO our best matches were Levante and Leganes with Griez as a 9... We were incredibly unlucky during the Levante one not to score more. And those 2 were our 3rd an 4th game.

I hope he brings that system back.

He has to joggle a bit with the system because the squad is very short. We basically can't keep the same system and rotate.

Ever since I first started monitoring this forum, the manager has been second-guessed and criticized for his squad selection. Thank goodness those days are finally over.

Quique will start those who can walk and are not suspended. The bench will be the semi-injured and a bunch of children. No arguments.
