Quique Setien

No coach in this world can raise this team again. This team is just over. They can't run, they can't press, they have no strength or desire to fight. They are just over and we have to accept that. Older players (Busi, Raki, Vidal, Pique, Suarez) need to leave the club in summer and we need to start from scratch. Messi probably also has a max of 2 good seasons left in him.

There was an analysis on Croatian TV where we could clearly see how all our players are walking for more than 30 seconds in attack. Literally none of them didn't even walk fast. It was like watching 40y old veterans playing charity game.

"We're going there to score".

- Use's EV's lineup, stifled and on the way to getting blanked.

- Uses Arthur.

- Scores within 5 minutes.

-> Don't make the same mistake again, dawg.

Literally Napoli had 3 real chances only and they were all players mistakes that should have been avoidable. Fripo; Busquets and Pique allowing that winger to pass by him. The formation was actually good given the resources we had

The midfield was more static than chess pieces, probably he thinks he is playing a chess game. I don't understand why he started Raki over Arthur.

I agree,he should have subbed Fati in way sooner.

Meh performance,ok result overall.

Can’t really blame him,as half the team is injured and the other half is either garbage or failed transfers.

Let’s hope we do the obvious and beat them at the Camp Nou.

We ran and pressed a lot in the second half.

Dont buy that there was no option but to go 442.

He could play Vidal behind Fati Griezmann Messi front three.

Griezmann and Vidal are about the only presence in the box Barca have from an attacking point of view but in first half particularly both were hugging touchline majority of time with zero threat in box.

I think he was frightened of playing a 17-year-old at one of the most hostile stadiums in Europe. Curious if he opts to start him in the next away CL game assuming we'll beat Napoli.

Why risk it? He is a chess player and a strategist, and he realizes its a two leg match and that a 1-1 score is good

The game opened up and I think Fati would have been good with the open space. Plus most fans want a manager who will play up-tempo and somewhat aggressive, not another conservative, risk-averse type.

Exactly. The moral story of our EV era is that names don’t matter as much as instructions and tactics. I remember Pep playing Jefrren or whatever his name as a RB due to lack of resources and he did fine. He played Pedro as well and he did well

They ran and pressed more than they've done in a long time tonight, but playing a 4-4-2 with no width or pace up front is never going to work regardless of the players you have unless the goal is to be very defensive and snag one goal somehow.

While this team is not good enough to win the CL, there's no reason to make it worse by playing the lineup and using the tactical setup Setien did.

There is a difference between being risk averse and being a fool; between not taking risks and not taking unnecessary risks

Pep said he talks to Valverde, so I have no doubt Setien also had a talk with him. There is no way Setien is this fucking blind and actually chose Rakitic over Arthur using his own brain, it's just not possible.
