Things will continue like this until we end up with no titles. That's my bet. Once we have a terrible season through and through there goes the veteran power.
There's only four senior players worth caring about. Messi, Suarez, Pique and Busquets.
The hope and my prediction is that Barca will make a huge splash on a CB to replace Pique as he'll decide to retire. Suarez hopefully realizing it's time to move on even though he's probably going to trigger that extra one year extension until 2022. If they sign Lautaro I think it's probable that he'll leave.
Busquets is the odd man out.
To be honest I haven?t seen enough of Setien?s Barca to make a judgement on that yet.
My point still stands about the game under Valverde though.

The simple fact is that in 2 leg tie you can't isolate one game and say you hope if it was coach X who are coaching us.
And as Jamdav said, we neither deserved the 0-4 game just like we didn't deserve 3-0 win. But both happened.
Liverpool was just a better team last year, I doubt under normal circumstances we would have beaten them with any other manager providing we had same circumstances. Setien is not a better manager than Klopp and very doubt he would have ever out coached him to the finals

You are over-complicating this imo. Valverde was clearly a main culprit. There is no way a manager should lose two ties from a comfortable 3 goal lead in 2 consecutive seasons in the Champions League.
Too many excuses were made for him and already are. Was he the only culprit? No, obviously. Was he a major part of the CL debacles? Hell yes.
Liverpool were a better team, but their manager is a big reason for that. Let's not even get into this. If Liverpool had Valverde and we had Klopp, we'd have easily handled that Liverpool team with Origi and Shaqiri in attack lol .
Top managers add plusvalue. Quite a lot. It's why they are so rare to find and so valuable. Klopp does that immensely with Liverpool. Valverde added nothing in CL. He made us worse actually with his decisions.
This is a reality. Valverde added NOTHING for this team in CL. His contribution was almost non-existent. Messi & Co. beat the lesser teams with their individual class, and the first time we faced a serious opponent (even a non-elite side like Roma) we were out in embarrassing manner.
You say I over complicate things then proceed to over complicate a simple statement.
You can't isolate one game of this tie and say I wish coach X was here. Setien our coach in such tie and at the end we get eliminated most likely.
You can proceed with a bbz type of essay as you want, it doesn't change that.
It doesn't change it, but imo people should stop pretending the manager has little responsability on how the players treat intense, decisive matches. Manager is key in all of this.
Valverde goes through both legs if players don't shit the bed.
Sorry but it's true he deserved to win back to back trebles with us
