Rafa Benitez - The Destroyer of Teams

Still I wouldn't bet against Inter winning the title again. Would you? Over a 38 game season who will finish above them? Lazio? Roma? Milan? Juve?

The derby should be interesting. I shall support Milan in the game, but will not be surprised if Inter won quite comfortably.

The man currently has the same group of players that won everything home and abroad last year, in 4th position in Serie A. And that is with Roma and Viola already imploded. Even if they do go onto win the derby and title, he has taken them huge steps backward from the side that was so effective last year. Effective is the last word that you can describe anything about what he is doing with Inter now.

They should have signed Arsene Wenger, who wanted to leave Arsenal,

What has Rafael Benitez done in his career? He just lives on the 3-3 in the Champions League final in Istanbul [against AC Milan in 2005].

And he cost Liverpool so much money too.

Rafa is mediocre, not bad, but he's nothing special.

I wouldn't blame him for the situation at Inter. After winning everything in the previous season there is always lack of motivation, players are tired, hence the players are more injury prone and Moratti is more thrifty nowadays.

Rafa Benitez isn't from the managers who can build a team with future, he has never developed a youth system, he just doesn't think in perspective. This is why he's destroyer. He just doesn't have an eye for being a great manager.

Ancelotti is the same though. Look Pep and Mourinho are the modern role models for managers.

Well... he won a CL (with Liverpool), one UEFA Cup (with Valencia) and a European Super Cup (also with Liverpool). Besides, he has spanish and english titles... so, the man hisn't so bad at all...

Um. Not an expert here but I don't think Liverpool won the league under Benitez. Hasn't it been 20 odd years since they've won the league?

They should be happy Benitez led their medicore forgotten team to two UCL finals in 3 years and revived their reputation again, unless they were gonna keep drowning in their swamp more and more.

I think this discussion will be over very fast if you regard on point: Rafa was forcing Xabi Alonso out to get GARETH BARRY, and that is all you have to know about this man.

I don't said EPL... I said english titles... that means the English Cup (2005/06)...

This is a very good point. In the time he was at Liverpool he overachieved with the squad that he had to work with, and transformed Liverpool into a title winning first 11.

Anyone who says he wasted money for Liverpool needs shooting, the lack of funds he had to work with because of the owners, he was having to sell to raise funds to buy. If you don't know the full inside story of the financial side of Liverpool over the past 3 or 4 years, don't speculate.
