Rafa Benitez - The Destroyer of Teams

Like I said at the time, he took the worst possible job he could in following Mourinho and his success.

Like I said at the time, he took the worst possible job he could in following Mourinho and his success.

I thought it's the easiest possible job for every manager. He's got a team that is complete, he could actually just stay away and watch the team from the stands, the players will know what to do on the pitch by themselves. It takes a special talent to ruin something that has been build so good.

Inter a complete team this year? He has injuries to deal with and players like Maicon and Milito finally fell off their cloud.

It's not all Benitez his fault. If anything a Barcelonafan should know how it works when a sort of identical squad as the all conquering one the year before performs ...

If he's unable to replace a few players in his starting line-up, then he had to tell Moratti that he needs a 30+ squad to work with. I admit he has a bad luck with injuries, but he still has players good enough to not lose from fucking Chievo. You sound like Edward a little bit, with the only difference that he would say "it's not Benitez fault at all" than "it's not all Benitez his fault".

So they didn't even need a manager.......what a fucking stupid post.

It's football. When you are already lying down in the corner to take a beating, you will get more. Even Barcelona or Madrid on form draw a game away versus small teams.

Just check his bench yesterday: Orlandoni, Materazzi, Rivas, Mancini, Alibec, Nwankwo, Natalino. What the fuck is that? Is that that 'famous treble team'? I don't think so.

I would have liked to see Mourinho's Inter performing without Maicon, Cesar, Motta, Samuel, (Chivu as well, don't know abotu him?) and Milito. Not to mention Sneijder who appears to be a zombie nowadays. It would have been shit as well, and that without lying in that corner or without having a new trainer.

If benitez would have done it with all great names in the peak like last year, yes then I would have said he is the worst thing in football. Now he surely is liable for the bad results, like all trainers, but far from all of the liability. At least I think he has the motivation to do the job the best he can, unlike his players it seems.

I think given the choice, Moratti would prefer no manager to having Malitez running his club into the ground.

Thats an unlucky scenario though when Madrid or Barca are on the end of an upset. There is no bad luck about getting hammered by Tottenham, failing to beat Brescia at home, choking to Lecce away, getting beaten by Milan at home and not even making a chance, then getting beaten by Chievo. It's not bad luck, its incompetence.

As I said: he surely has his faults as well. Tottenham and Milan indeed. But as a whole it is far from only his incompetence, injuries + decompression with the players plays a role as well. A manager should keep track of that decompression but on the other hand, Inter were a bunch of European losers, it was to be expected when finally winning something. And that without getting new blood into the team.

Any top team that has to play without 5-6 key players and their main creative force being a zombie would struggle. Nevermind a narrow team like Inter after a conquering year.

As for 9 points from Milan: It's only because Milan actually finally has enforced themselves. If Milan didn't have Zlatan, they would have the same amount of points as Inter probably. And if I'm not mistaken, Inter weren't top of the table 4 games from the end after having a serious dip, so it doesn't only happen with Benitez, even with all players available in a great year.

It happens. And sure Benitez does things wrong. And yes, even if the players are injured or being twats because they can't be in Madrid, Benitez should take responsibility if there aren't going to be good results soon.

But that doesn't he singlehandedly ruined a treble winning team, I think for Inter there are far more worrying things than Benitez. Like getting Sneijder 100% fit, or getting almost 30-year old Maicon or 30+ Milito to what they did last year after denying them to leave the club with Mourinho.

But anyway, what do you care. If anyone is enjoying this soap ... :p

Not to take any thing away from Benitez but i always had this feeling that the Inter players never respected him much after having won 'em all under Mourinho. Add to it the injury crisis. But Benitez does set standards wherever he goes :D

Yeah this spell is largely due to the injury crisis, but why I and others don't see that as an excuse for Rafa is because he has caused it. Thats why I think he's a total idiot, he came into a club that won everything with experienced players playing physical but not fast football. So Malitez comes in and thinks its a great idea to make those same players run more in training, tries to make them run fast in games, and forces them to do so by playing such a high defensive line. No wonder they are dropping like flies, he is trying to make a St Bernard run like a greyhound.

Mourinho is reported in Italy to have reacted to Inter Milan 's latest defeat by saying, "But how? Has he lost again?

"It's incredible. They are already nine points behind…"

Mourinho patronizingly continued, "Sure at Inter it's all very different to England

:lol::lol:
