Rafinha Alcantara

I think I can say without any danger of exaggeration that Rafinha might just be more talented than his older brother. His growth and evolution at Celta has been nothing short of spectacular.

The way his game has evolved this year might just have saved Barcelona the need to purchase a CM. Rafinha is very much capable of playing CM for Barcelona next year.

People always said his bro was better a few years ago! Hope we bring him back next year and look at loaning out Roberto.

Not being butthurt because of Thiago leaving, but Rafinha was always rated higher than his older brother in LaMasia.

Yes but honestly that was never evident until now. Thiago always looked much more talented before and everyone questioned how it was possible to say Rafa was better, but here we are and it could actually be true.

Still have to say they both have World Class potential. I can't imagine what it could've been like to have them as a CM pairing. Brother with brother, perfect chemistry and complementing abilities, would've been phenomenal. Sadly it was never to be, both play at different clubs and NT's now .

Rafinha can still choose to play for Spain, though, right? The Brazilians never called him for the senior team...or did they?

No, not yet. But I doubt he'll choose spain. Rafinha's dream is to play for brazil. Spain has too many midfielders too, he has a bigger chance to be called and play for brazil.

United, City, Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in Rafinha (21), now on loan at Celta. United and City willing to pay 30M buyout fee [md]

I think you guys are really jumping the gun here.

Just watched this video:

He made so many bad passes, lost so many balls...

I know its unfair to judge him on one game, but its too early to say he will be better than his brother. His brother is playing awesome for the best team in the world now.

Rafinha's Style of Play
Gets fouled often
Likes to play long balls
Likes to dribble

Lets be honest, this does not fit Barça tiki taka. We need players with short passing, who don't keep the ball long (no dribble no foul).

His brother got more experience at top level than him so its a no brainer that he is better at the moment. Whether Rafinha will be better than his brother in the future or not, none of us do know. We just need to wait and see how does when he returns.

Sounds like Iniesta, doesn't it? Anyway, he's a world class player that can easily adapt into our system.
