Rafinha Alcantara

I think you guys are really jumping the gun here.

Just watched this video:

He made so many bad passes, lost so many balls...

I know its unfair to judge him on one game, but its too early to say he will be better than his brother. His brother is playing awesome for the best team in the world now.

Edit: from http://www.whoscored.com/Players/106590
Rafinha's Style of Play
Gets fouled often
Likes to play long balls
Likes to dribble

Lets be honest, this does not fit Barça tiki taka. We need players with short passing, who don't keep the ball long (no dribble no foul).
If you were watching the actual games, and not a video of one game, you'd know no one is jumping the gun. He's much better than roberto, and can fit well in the team.

I'm liking him more and more this season but comparing him to other players in his age group you find that he's rather below them. i'm not saying it's an indicator of anything but would be nice to have a player slot in directly from La Masia to the first time like Messi did (I'm not talking about individual capability but him filling a role that we needed and being talented enough to do so).

i.e : Gotze, Oscar,Verratti...

I'm still looking forward to next season.

United, City, Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in Rafinha (21), now on loan at Celta. United and City willing to pay 30M buyout fee [md]

Not this again. So it is all down to Rafinha whether he will stay if they dump 30m of cash on our front desk?

Mazinho will probably tell him to leave.

We want to keep Rafinha. 30M for a 21 year old is like nothing in 2014. Keep, keep, keep.

It actually is something. Rafinha isn't a finished product yet, he might go either ways.
Besides with a good buy-back clause/first option we'd be set to get him back in a few years if he turns out to be a gem.

I doubt we're gonna get any buy-back or first option clause if we sell him so forget about that. If we want him back afterwards then we'll have to pay up and pay big time.

So sell him for 30m and buy him back for 60m several years later? Makes sense. ;)

yep, yep it does.
Sometimes letting a player grow outside your club is a good strategy (Cesc). Besides 30m now might be much more important than 60m in 4 years to us, who knows.
Either way it's a gamble.
Not selling him =/= 0 if a 30 m offers comes for him, it's a 30m loss if we do keep him. capische?

That's why he was loaned, to grow. Selling a promising player is too risky. First because the board is bad on deals, and also because there's the risk he might not want to come back.

I kinda agree with this

Do keep in mind that income tax is included in the buyout fee so teams who want to buy him have to pay up to 60m (depending on the country they come from), and I doubt anyone will pay this kind of money for him.

I think long balls are great would be even better if we bought a CF or converted Bartra to a CF to play infront of him/messi.
