If he doesn't get called up then Del bosque is an idiot. The current set of midfielders are on their last legs with the exception of Busi and Cesc isnt good enough to be your main midfielder for spain.

Thiago will most likely get called up the next time if he's not injured.

I doubt he makes the EUROS next summer, but things can change. Iniesta, Cesc, Cazorla, Koke and Isco have all preferred alongside Busi in the mid.

Played well, unlucky not to have an assist or two off of suarez. I prefer him in midfield he seems to be less dribble-crazed when playing there and only pulls it out when he needs to.

He has grown like crazy, very glad to see that. Good decision by Lucho to sub off Rakitic, who played a lot with Croatia and could need the rest, and let Rafinha stay on and get more valuable minutes against a top team like Atletico. He did very well.

Had a really good 2nd half. Cannot imagine our team without him. He is a really important squad player.

A monster performance by one of our La Masia boys. I was really impressed with him on and off the ball in the first half; could have had two assists; and he was even winning headers. Great on the ball; and once Messi got on the pitch he was even better in midfield. So gracious in possession. His game has gone up a few notches in the past few months; he earned that international cap.
