Raheem Sterling

I thinik Pep is preparing a new inovation, a new system with a classic number 9 and with no real wingers. On paper the old way worked great but he always says you need to make changes. It will be very interesting from a tactical point of view to watch City this season.

I'm thinking 4-2-3-1. It could be that actually Phillips will get a lot of game time. Would explain why they're content to let Bernado Silver go also.

Don't think so, he almost never played that and it's against Cruyff's principales. It will be a more narrow 4-3-3 with fullbacks providing the width or 4-1-4-1. No one said they want to give Bernardo to us, that's just Barca's wish. And even if they did, Foden can move to midfield.

Yeah but then what? He's never produced the numbers so far.

Good stats do not equate to a good player

Looking at Sterlings goal tally you would think he was a pure goal scorer yet 95% of them were little tap-ins as ManC create soooo many chances clear-cut opportunities. Hes actually missed more big chances than anyone else over the last 6 years

This guy is getting sold for less than Ferran Torres lol.

He will cost around 55m just like Ferran, but will make about 15m per year. Was also on his last year of contract.

City are the real winners here even if he'll improve Chelsea.

That's why Grealish could only manage what 2? Last season?

Grealish was told by Pep to stay wide left for the majority of his games .. no comparison to be fair

Grealish was also having to adapt his game coming to fit into Peps way .

I see this narrative repeated a lot, but if it were true then City's other wide players would have similar or superior numbers - but they almost never do. If City just create clear-cut chances for fun then that makes Grealish an an even worse performer. Besides, this isn't just a City thing, the disparity is replicated at international level as well, where Sterling consistently out-performs Grealish.

Sterling was voted best young player in Europe at Liverpool and earned himself a big move to City.

He has been Englands best player at more than one intl tournament.

This idea he is just about taps for Pep is clueless and his movement is very good to seek those chances in way Pep asked him to anyway.

Last season or so the LW has been wider position and not suited him as much.
