This is why I hope the old firm never get into the english league. They bring idiots (not you per se) who don't know shit and sing about ira and rangers sing their sick songs...... Both need to grow up a bit.

BTW I don't condone either both are as bad as each other.

Scotland would be fucked without England, here's why:

Your North Sea Oil accounts for less than 1.5% of UK GDP. Just look at Irelands economy now compared to Britain, you would be the exact same as them if you became independant. Oil is rapidly being replaced by other energy sources including new fuels such as hydrogen and electric transport.

Scotland has a population of around 5 million. Of these only 163,000 are net taxpayers. In other words, of the 5 million Scots, an astonishing 4,837,000 are kept by English taxpayers. If Scotland becomes independent the Scots will become a lot poorer, but we, who have supported Scotland for years, will become a lot richer.

Very intresting read that Ducky good post where did you learn all that?


There is no denying that Scotland as a nation have the highest sick rate accross europe . There is also a huge drug and drink problem up there which would take decades to clear if the goverment was willing to throw finance into.

Independence isnt always all its made out to be.

I had to do an economics essay on it a few years back.
They base most of their arguement for independence on the fact they have a little bit of oil, which will obviously run out in a few years anyway.
