Barca would tear apart their midfield and defence. (Basically because in effect Milan have none.) When you still rely on 70 year old Seedorf and 60 year old Gattuso for your main men in midfield, you know you have problems.

Plus I am still not convinced about Silva. A lot of people say he is world class etc, but whenever I see him play he has been ranging from average to decent. Whilst Nesta was world class, he is not on world class level anymore, though when he is fit he is still a Godly defender, but how many years as he got left?

The gampar was a strong game from both and the way Barca midfield /defense operate this season will allow Milan to score some goals with ease

Missing Silva, the man that holds our defence together, when away from home is massive. And thats not an excuse, I even said that when the team sheets came out last night and that a Madrid win was inevitable.

the man that holds your defense together is Nesta not Silva

Nope, I have never said I liked Bonera or thought he was good.

Nesta is fantastic when next to Silva who makes up for his lack of pace, Bonera or any of our other options do not offer that and as a result the defence is atrocious compared to the masterclass in the same fixture last year.

I don't agree, for any Italian team, even one who's strength is in attack like Milan, our game is built from the back forward. You don't have a secure backline, you have nothing to work from, I said that yesterday before and it was correct from what I gather - Bonera was even at fault for a gol. Your theories will have meaning if there is a similar situation in Sansa and Nesta - Silva are fit.

Bonera was not at fault a deflection isn't a defender fault Sergio.. sorry i know you had hopes but anyone who watched the game last night would tell not even Silva could have helped you anything.. you can't build any attack cause we nailed your midfielders all night , Ibra touched the ball once .. The game was lost in the midfield, that much I agree with. But I also agree with Sergio in that if Milan's defense sucks, the rest is going to struggle too. Bonera was a walking disaster and I'm not surprised. But the dinosaur midfield was a nightmare. That one is on Allegri.

Marcelo ran circles around Zambrotta , with our power and speed on several occasions we had 5 players vs 2 Milan players.. what would Silva do ? clone himself 4-5 times to stop everyone ?
Milan were really lucky the game wasn't a 6-0 affair, 2 nil make them go home with some sort of dignity but everyone who watched the game know it could have been the biggest defeat for Milan in the CL if they played with more seriousness after the 2-0 up

you won't Yusuf.. with such defense and organization i saw this season i don't think you will
if you did manage it will be a really hard fought battle of 3-2 , 4-3 but i don't see you capable of pulling any sort of similar result based on the last 2 month of the season especially in Camp nou which you are struggling in

I'm not arrogant but i do see plenty of weakness and dip in form for your main player and i discussed that in Messi thread and go the current expected reply from our fellow cule's here

It's not like B Munich own goals last night.. both goals were product of creation whether Ozil move and shot or CR very close FK

Gio you know full well that having a stronger defence changes more than just how well you deal with attacks from the opposition, but also reduces such attacks to begin with as ball retention is possible. Milan are hugely reliant on Nesta - Silva, without either of them the ability to win and keep the ball is almost nil. So no midfield pressure, so no service to the forwards - who no matter how good they are will do nothing if they never have the ball. You are saying your defence hat Pato-Ibra-Dinho in pockets. From the highlights I saw they rarely had a touch of the ball as it was largely in Milan half. That isn't strong defending, thats just standing around.
