I think Cassano would have worked, I think you can see already at Milan that he actually very effective at pressuring the opposition central defenses, certainly draws in defenders like Eto'o did in Jose's Inter system, all be it not so much with physicality but close control on the ball.

We have tried Cassano in that same formation before and he wasn't effective Super Pippo. He struggled there because he can't lead a line on his own you know.
