There is an upset between Carvalho and Pepe over National Team issue where Carvalho complained that he is pissed that Pepe gets chosen to Portugal's first 11 no matter whether he would train or not. They haven't talked since then, Pepe hangs out with Coentrao and Carvalho with Kaka, but it's only Carvalho + Pepe who don't talk to each other, Coentrao and Kaka are fine.

Kinda immature from Ricardo. No reason for this.

Was this the problem in the Portugal's camp? The problem that led Carvalho to suddenly leave? he called something was very disrespectful as I remember... Is Pepe the starter over him?

As far as I remember they started along each other or Pepe was a DM, but something has changed it seems and Carvalho is pissed about it. Something must have happened, but it's not good for RM if they are pissed off at each other. Might lead to some rotation in defence if it persists or if Mourinho doesn't take care of it (which I expect he will).

I disagree with those who say that Madrid are the same as last year. Clearly, Mourinho is starting to employ Barcelona's pressing game and in that last few games, they are also getting better at one-touches. Their movements also show that they are trying to mimic Barca. The only big difference is that they find it very hard to score from build-up play. 4 out of 5 goals are scored from counters and set-pieces.

RM looks better this year. Coentro is an improvement, as is putting Lass on the bench. Benzema is better, Ozil is better, and the coach is better in his approach vs. Barca. They still can't beat Barca, their defense is just too slow. Pepe is fast enough, and Ramos holds his own, but just a couple of speedy defenders against Barca means you lose.

True, they don't score much in open play. But they are very good at drawing fouls in the offensive area, and deadly on free kicks.

Barca is not good at all on corners and free kicks. But the main thing you can say about these two offenses are that they are both fantastic.

It would have been a nice comparison if Perez was indeed in charge since 08/09. Sport got it wrong there.
