I disagree with those who say that Madrid are the same as last year. Clearly, Mourinho is starting to employ Barcelona's pressing game and in that last few games, they are also getting better at one-touches. Their movements also show that they are trying to mimic Barca. The only big difference is that they find it very hard to score from build-up play. 4 out of 5 goals are scored from counters and set-pieces.
RM looks better this year. Coentro is an improvement, as is putting Lass on the bench. Benzema is better, Ozil is better, and the coach is better in his approach vs. Barca. They still can't beat Barca, their defense is just too slow. Pepe is fast enough, and Ramos holds his own, but just a couple of speedy defenders against Barca means you lose.
True, they don't score much in open play. But they are very good at drawing fouls in the offensive area, and deadly on free kicks.
Barca is not good at all on corners and free kicks. But the main thing you can say about these two offenses are that they are both fantastic.
