Even aside from that, scoring too early against all good teams tends to wake them up a bit so you're more likely to go on to draw/lose.

Looks like April will be a tough month for RM, this is precisely why we need to keep the heat on in La Liga, if we let them build the gap even further, those tough la liga fixtures around the same time they play Bayern will be pretty meaningless for them and they can afford to drop points and rest players for Bayern.

Apr 1 Osasuna v Real Madrid
Apr 8 Real Madrid v Valencia
Apr 11 Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid
Apr 15 Real Madrid v Sporting Gijon
Apr 17 Bayern Munic v Real Madrid
Apr 22 Barcelona v Real Madrid
Apr 25 Real Madrid v Bayern Munich

The Apoel games, too, they count for something.

That is a tough month. Still, I'd be surprised if RM drops more than 2 points before the Clasico. I think La Liga will get closer, to 3 points, which will keep everyone interested through the end. Still too much ground for Barca to make up, though.

the goal can't come from open play either because then it will be either ruled as offside or a non-existant foul against the scoring team will be pulled out of the ref's arse
