Wow, I have to say, as a non-Madrid fan, it really makes me think how privileged Madrid fans should feel for the squad that they have, I mean the signings that were made this summer were absolutely insane!
And La Liga is definitely the league this year, because it's basically like Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Kaka, Ibra, Villa, Cronaldo and Casillas against Rooney and Drogba. I know that might sound like a shallow list but these are the players who are the real 'superstars' in world football at the moment, they are the biggest names. Of course you have excellent players like Higuain, Eto'o, Fabregas etc. but the ultimate big guns are in Spain for certain. Also I know I'm stating the obvious, but yeah I didn't really give it much thought until now.

a bit biased. i would say spain has ronaldo, kaka, messi, casillas, iniesta, puyol, sergio ramos, dani alves, david villa and xavi against rooney, drogba, fabregas, lampard, gerrard, torres, terry, ashley cole, evra and arshavin.

it is still close...

Kevin if we can't make it than we picked the wrong man for the job & we don't deserve to be there

If we can't get past Lyon than we need to restart again and check in Manu is the man to lead us , cause if last night we were playing United,Chelsea,Arsenal,Inter it could have been another 4-0

?

I do think you will beat Lyon with ease. I was joking about Granero and then saying you'll have to play two bigger sides in the League before the crucial CL game versus Lyon and after the decompression of the first game versus Lyon, which is good for us.

All the players you put down are excellent players but they're not magazine-headlining superstars at all. You can't put Evra in the same league as Ronaldo. Evra is a good player but only because there are no other good left backs. Ronaldo is a good player because he stands out even in a long history of good players. Lampard and Gerrard were world class but that was 3 years ago. If you put them in the list you're lowering the bar. I could easily put down a list of players like Jesus Navas, Luis Fabiano, Mata, Pique and Aguero and they would easily match up to any of the players you've added from the Premier League.
But I'm not talking about quality.
I'm talking about that 'just a bit more' that sets these players apart. People will remember Kaka and will talk about him in 100 years time. But people won't talk about Ashley Cole, unless it's one of those crappy "EPL Stars - where are they now" shows that try to find ex-English League players who were good in their own time, in order to fill up time slots on Star Spots in Asia because they can't show anything else cause of the 8 hour time difference.
I understand completely what you're saying but you're missing the point. It's not about quality and competitiveness, because both leagues have it. But because of Barca and Real Madrid, this year La Liga is undoubtedly the league of the stars on an individual level.

Yes that's what i mean. But the problem for Spanish teams is that sometimes they don't play like teams... Whereas you have the English unit that is so strong and so threatening, not as full of flourish but less prone to collapse if they go behind. Like ManU against Milan, with a bit of luck they comlpetely turned it around and now are virtually guaranteed a spot.

I was thinking , iwould like an EPL experienced manager to try out his chance in Real but not Mourinho or Rafa but Wenger

Wenger? HAHAHAHAHAHA

If you want that you are insane. He cannot handle big name players bought for big money.

You are destined for Rafa HAHA :D

Cesc,Merida ..etc as well ...

Youth players are not the problem Gio.

It is the big name, big cash signings which would be his problem.

Yes but he would work with whoever he has on the team as big names same way he did with Arsenal
he has several big ego's in the team (Arshavin,Van Persie & Cesc ) so he won't have a problem dealing with the current squad but i'm interested to add the EPL secrets to the team
