He sure can be

 De La Red was given an all clear by the social security medical team to continue his career, Real has applied for permanent disability but the panel after checking the results and tests said there is no need for him to retire and Real should respect and honor his contract.

latest results from De La Red case was positive and they will make one final test to check if the stress affect his heart or not .. If all clear De La Red could soon be kicking the ball
Ruben has used his time on the sideline to finish up his coaching badge and i hope he come back as we desperately need him in the center of the pitch

Meanwhile our friends at the catalan daily Sport has hinted that Real has warned Iker to get back on track and focus on his career as he was too much involved with his personal relation (Sara hint hint ) otherwise he could see himself out of the club in the near future , with Iker having a really bad year between the post Real Madrid is thinking about Almeria keeper Diego Alves as his replacement

replace Casillas??!?!?!?!?!? quuuuuue??!?!?

First lets not forget this is coming from Sport ..the enemy
second i concur Iker isn't having the best of seasons this year , he made several mistakes (compared to flawless seasons before i know it's a bit too much but Iker level is usually 10/10 when it's 8/10 it's below his level )
and he probably need a motivation in the form of a good back up keeper not the likes of Dudek who make him feel safe between the posts.

needless to say Iker has won it all .. there is nothing he didn't win except a World cup .. some competition is needed

while this is really good news for de la red, i'm not quite sure about wether it is for us - those who desperatly want him back (healthy of course) and see him manage the midfield of real madrid.
cause that's exactly the most uncertain factor IMO. will he be back for real madrid??? will they risk playing him??? will they incorporate a player that has been out of training and games since late 2008??? i'm afraid it's more likely that real will sell him or loan him out again, which would be understandable from the clubs point of view.

i cross my fingers that de la red will be able to play professional football again and i really, really hope that it's gonna be for real madrid.

yeah, i think the main goal is to put preasure on casillas by finding a decent substitute. dudek couldn't catch a dead fly.

it's hard to tell what keeper would be perfect in terms of getting one that's fine with the idea of being a sub for one and having casillas in front of him for another. i think it would be best to look at keepers with great potential that are in a difficult situation at their respective club. i can't see diego alves swap his starting place for real madrids bench. it more likely that keepers like codina or asenjo are happy swap benches.

jesus, MARCA is really annoying these days...today they again are out for pellegrinis head, claiming real will get a coach that already has won the CL. naming ancelotti, capello, mourinho & benitez as the candidates.

it's so stupid...they keep singing that song despite every madridista bases poll showing that people blame the players and not the coach. MARCA themselfs had a poll - in order to test the water i guess - where none of their precious saviors convinced the voters (the one actually could do a great job, capello, did very bad). instead, almost 70% voted for pellegrini as next seasons coach. it's getting boring, annoying and so stupid by now, that it's beyong being healthy.

The level of ignorance is grand , they change the theme every day .. same for Balague and co .
Revista G Armstrong are certain both Higuain & Pellegrini are out after players complained about Higuain selfishness and Perez looking for an escape goat .
as if all those months no one realized it's Valdano that run the show not Perez.

Pellegrini can be sacrificed depending on how we finish the league though but not even Perez can sell Higuain , for a man afraid to lose popularity he won't come near him especially when Benzema is yet to prove himself , Pellegrini is another story unless a stronger manager is available i don't see him leaving

revista has claimed later on the neither Valdano nor Perez want Mourinho (and balagay bet on Rafa Benitez to be the next in charge ) .. i'll be here laughing in 3 month when Rafa is far away from the club doors

exactly, people still act like this is a deja vue, when in fact pérez has been acting in the background. the level of ignorance is in deed sky high.

which is why he can't and won't sack pellegrini!!! sacking a coach, that has almost 70% of madridistas prefering him over the likes of mourinho, benitez, ancelotti & co. will see him lose the very popularity he fears to lose. unless pellegrini fucks up big time till the end of the season, which would not even be the case if he "loses" the title race against barca.

another reason why he should not be sacked...there simply is no one other than capello how could do a better job in terms of trophies than pellegrini. but with capello, the lack beautifull football debate would be reopened again.

------------------------------

meanwhile AS are saying that the option of paying racing 1m € and add canales this summer already, is becoming more and more likely.

btw beast...what's your opinion on de la red returning speciffically for real madrid and on the keeper question???

Yes for the keeper , Iker has stayed way too long without worthy replacement (except when Cesar Sanchez and Diego Lopez were here ) he need the motive to be better and let's not think what will happen if Iker is injured.

De La Red, if he can regain form he is welcome if not a year in Getafe will put him back in shape

Okay, I saw you guys spotted the title in Marca but which one would you prefer should Pellegrini gets sacked?

i think that a year with getafe is the most likely thing to happen. although i cross my fingers he's still in good form and we'll be able to see a xabi alonso-de la red partnership the next season already.

while being at it...your thoughts - if you watch them closer - on the castilla kids sarabia & marcos alonso???

- sarabia is being followed by lots of la liga clubs as well as arsenal. from what i hear he's a very talented no. 10.
- IMO marcos alonso is worth a try as back up LB for arbeloa. at least i can't see him being worse than marcelo (should stay at LM) or drenthe at LB.

check out my posts above for the reasons...as far as i'm concerned i prefer pellegrini staying and only see capello capable of doing a better job than pellegrini with regards to trophies - but i think a much bader job with regards to beautifull football and the current goal tally.

Impossible to judge based on performance in third division ..

If Manu get sacked

I'd go for Fabio (unlikely due to England ) .
followed by Mourinho
than Rafa
than Carlo

Does anyone realize that most of the players madrid want would result in Higuain being benched. I wonder how much longer the kid will accept starting every season as a bench player and having to earn back his starter role. Sooner or later, Higuain will get tired and leave. Valdano better give him the contract he wants.

Are Real still chasing Ribéry, by the way? He could be useful, especially if they'd sell Kaká, so that you'd have a Cristiano Ronaldo- Gutí/ Van der Vaart - Ribéry trident behind Higuaín. That would be hard to handle, I suppose.

Do you realize most of the sources replacing a striker with Higuain is Marca ?
I wonder how much longer will people believe Marca and discuss it as a possibility that Rooney will come and replace Higuain

Ribery injury situation is worrying for the club , unless he comes with a favorable price the club will look /looking elsewhere .. mainly Navas or Silva or none of them and Canales
