so now buying a LW which Real has no one to cover is becoming confusing ?

It's clear he will use 4-3-3 with CR-Di Maria on both sides
he said Marcelo will be his LB but he is looking for someone different to have different varieties (solid defensively LB )
Di Maria would be eaten alive as a LCM ..

Diego Maradona has revealed that he is friends with Jose Mourinho - and could give the new Real Madrid manager a call to discuss tactics as the World Cup progresses.


Though Maradona's free-scoring beliefs may be a world away from Mourinho's pragmatic approach to the game, Maradona revealed his admiration for the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss who he met recently.

"I like Mourinho a lot [as a coach],'' said Maradona. "On top of that, the way he received me, we spent hours talking about football, attacking and defensive tactics. He seemed to me a guy to take to your bedside table and ask him each time you need something.

"I've got his phone number, I might call him.''

The Argentina coach also talked up Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

"I don't know if people will say I'm arrogant but none was 30% of Tevez either because Carlitos thrills you playing...I love my team.''

Maradona said of Lionel Messi in La Nacion: "I believe he's broken the mould and is ready, let's end the comparisons. Leo is ready to go out on to a pitch and leave it (the tournament) with the crown.'

hadn't seen the marcelo quote, but if he's said that then the di maria deal does make sense.

never would have figured mourinho to use marcelo as a LB, being that he's a shit defender.

I would be so amazingly amazed if he starts xabi. he's such a non-jose player it's untrue.

also higuain as the #9... can't see it. he can't hold the ball, and that's mourinho 101. from derlei to mccarthy to drogba to zlatan to milito.

He did quite well as a no 9 Meta with Argentina , u have to remember and take into consideration that Higuain development year on year is scary .. he came a long way from that shy kid who joined Real in 06

Marcelo will have an attacking role .. i think that's what he will be used for , a back up from Koralov same way Arbeloa will be back up for Maicon or any RB .

Xabi is actually very Mourinho type he was not used properly last season, Motta , Mikel ?
I mentioned before Mourinho adapt a formation to what he has .. same way he changed the Chelsea 4-3-3 to 4-3-1-2 .. i think he will surprise some people

he played well as #9 with argentina when tevez plays and does the actual holding of the ball, so higuain doesn't have to.

so yeah, I see josé signing a #9.

He held the ball quite well , you are repeating your old views of him
if a player will be bought in this position it could be Milito but it will mean the departure of Benz

i know marcelo is not a very popular player but ive always liked watching him play.
i always kept a close eye on him. he is very at attacking. im really surprised that he's not called up for WC.

mourinho? offensive tactics?
9 in own half and one striker up front? is that it? :lol:
