Wasn't Diarra a box-to-box mid while playing in Lyon ? I'm not sure, but I think he was more offensive and he has also shown some moves in Madrid. I remember the game he got back from injury and was allowed to play against some trash team (I think it was Valladolid) and he did some turns on the ball, quick one-twos, I was literally amazed and my mates were also saying "What the hell has happened to him ? He's got moves :thumbsup2:" Probably now he would be too old and kind of slow to play box-to-box for the whole match, but I probably would give him the chance of regaining his position. It's his last chance and Mourinho would be dumb if he didn't want to try such a determined guy out.
Lass has already shown that he can't be a proper playmaker. Too much offensive game gets him confused. He should be the anchor guy just like he was when he joined.
+ about homegrown guys. That's the whole point of me being unsure about buying Leon. Guti will be gone for sure anyway (I just wish that he ends career, because I wouldn't want to see him in a different shirt at all
), but Raul ? If Raul leaves then we're in trouble having only 2 strikers. Well, unless Mourinho will want to waste Ronaldo's potential if somehow both of them are unable to play. I think Raul should stay one more year. It's a chance for him to go out by actually having a good chance to win a cup and he could build that team up on his leading terms.
About Granero, the guy is a waste as a box-to-box. I'd like to see him being a playmaker covering the wing in the main part. It could possibly lead him to battle for a place in the team for good. How many homegrown people do we have without our wonderful grandads? Granero, Arbeloa, Iker... ?
