He might be a flop if he isn't played, which is very possible with Real (buy young talent for 20 million, don't play him, sell him, watch him become an amazing player) but if he is played he could become a very good player.

It is not the same situation as Villa going to Barcelona.

Villa is a world class player and a luxury signing, who will not instantly lose his talent if he is on the bench, he already has the talent.

di Maria is a potential player, who will not reach his potential if not played. Villa has the talent already, and does not have this problem.

Oi! I'm the only one here with my head up my own arse, Hamzah is no longer participating in this discussion, got it!?

No, we were confused as to why Real Madrid would sign two young prospects for the same position. Actually 3 with Ozil? Playing regularly at their ages is extremely important for their development, since they are not yet completed articles. Villa on the other hand is amongst the top 3 players for his position, adding him only strengthens our squad and his vesatility only broadens our options. I'm not 100% sure if Pedro Leon is restricted to the wings, but Di Maria certainly is and signing him could stunt his progression if he is restricted to a limited amount of games.
