The celebration is cringe but his goal is one of the most consequential in football history

Just like Iniesta’s v Chelsea
The one vs ATM? Ofcourse that's a very clutch goal and historic for Real Madrid.

I wouldn't say consequential in football history. That's too much. I think Madrid would have won more CLs either way.

This celebration is cringe because it makes him look like a salty, bitter ex. Normally I don't mind these kind of celebrations. I really like Jude's celebration for instance.

I disagree. RM had stacked squad in CL since 2010 but kept losing out in CL KOs year after year. If they had lost to AM in 2014, those cumulative losses plus their R of 16 merchants tag from 00s would really hamper their CL outlook, despite their talent.

The domino effect of that goal on RM’s CL fortunes is insane.

Mou already changed their mentality imo.

They were just unlucky in that penalty shootout against Bayern where the best high pressure penalty shooters in the world like CR7 and Kaka somehow missed.

I don't disagree with the domino effect thing. I just think it was just a matter of time before that Madrid squad got over the line.

If they had lost the 2014 final, they would still wait for la decima. Imagine losing a CL final against your poorer city rivals, while being stacked with players like Ronaldo, Bale, Di Maria, Modric, Benzema, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Xabi Alonso.

Most of those players would have been sold the same summer, and Carlo would have been sacked, maybe Zidane would never get a chance. Maybe even Perez would get a vote of no confidence.

Ramos goal in the 93 minute is what made Real a force in the CL again. More important than any other goal in their history.

Simeone fuck up caused that, he should have made subs earlier to bring in fresh legs.

So he's the cause if this crazy run they are on.

Nah one sub had been used by 9th minute and only two remaining.

He uses both remaining on hour mark or so and half an hour to get through with no subs left.

All three subs had been made and before goal and he brought on a CB.. yet they still scored from a corner.

Nothing wrong with his subs.

Would be surprised if Huijsen doesn't end up with Madrid in the summer and much like Nico with us it would be hella stupid if they don't buy him, it's just too obvious.

I get your point, but Ronaldo has missed a lot of pressure penalties. It isn't an unusual thing for him, though he's scored pressure ones plenty too. He scores most of the non-pressure ones.

Not slagging him again, just saying that he's missed 6 or 7 big penalties in his career.
