Manchester City's Brazilian forward Robinho has told BBC Sport he sees his long-term future at the club and denied he is looking to move away.

"I am very happy here. I think I [will] stay here five years or 10 years, I don't know," he told Football Focus.

"My family is very happy, the fans love me and I love the fans."

"I am enjoying playing English football. It is very beautiful," he added. "With every game I play, I feel more comfortable. I hope to continue playing football in England for a long time."

Sport is saying today that Laporta will meet with sheikh Ajgkag Agjgak Jghajgdja Agadgjag (whatever his name is) in China this Sunday to discuss the move.

I don't know why they will meet exactly there, but Sport is saying they will.

Utter, utter bollocks.

Hughes has said Robinho is definitely staying, the chairman has said Hughes makes all the decisions and now Robinho has said he loves it here and he wants to stay here for 10 years.

(Sheikh Mansour btw.)

You really still give a shit what players actually talk? ;)

The only players who I'd believe what they are saying are the homegrown ones, like Maldini, Terry, Totti, Puyol, Xavi and other like that. In this case I could suppose that they're actually somehow connected to the club they're representing and they have the reasons to tell the truth, when we hear something like "I'm staying here for life" (THIERRY HENRY GOONER FOR LIFE? Haha.)

Henry lied the fans of Arsenal, the fans he loved for around 10 years and who were loving him too. Thierry Henry - the captain, the icon, the legend, the symbol. He lied, when he probably knew that he was going. If Henry could lie the fans of a team, he's no doubt deeply connected with, who gives a fuck what is Robinho saying? When clearly Robinho is probably not giving a fuck about City, too. He's just a mercenary for your club, just like he was for Madrid and like he would be for us, if we get him.

If this deal doesn't happen, it won't be because Robinho is sooooo happy there and he just loves saying it. It won't happen, just because it won't happen. You could find a lot of reasons for negotiations being broken.

and he wants to stay here for 10 years.

It's hilarious. I'd try to believe him if he says "I want to stay here", but if he's really saying 10 years, I think he's kidding with you.

(Sheikh Mansour btw.)

Thanks, it looks easier this way.

Or, Henry wanted to stay and thought he was staying until his situation changed (Wenger wanted to get rid), which can happen to every player, even Messi.

Some more quotes from yesterday's interview:

We were really happy to win on Saturday," said the Brazilian, who returned to action in the 1-1 draw at home to Hull on 28 November.

"But the most important thing now is to win. There are still a lot of games to go and we want to be top.

"To finish in the top four would not be bad but we are going to fight for the title until the end.

"I think the morale of the team is improving. It is a winning spirit and our mentality has to be that of the team that wants to win and that wants to be champions.

"We have a great manager in Mark Hughes. He has proved this in all the teams he has managed and is showing that now with Manchester City.

"He has a great relationship with all the players, including me, and I hope that this year we can be champions together; that is our goal."

Who wouldn't want to be on 160k plus a week for 10 years? He is obv not going to, but he wants to.

The same way that Eto'o was, Zlatan is, Yaya is for you? About 95% of all players playing nowadays are mercs.

Ahh, so it's not about the project, the club and the blue ambition anymore? :D
Just kidding. I'd like to be on 160k, but if I have the chance to be on 120k or 130k at club like Barca, playing along the best players in the world, maybe I'd sacrifice 20 or 30k per week. But that's me.

I didn't say that there's something wrong to have mercs in your team. What I tried to say, is that I don't trust what mercs are talking, because I don't really have the reasons to. Zlatan and Yaya are great players and I'm happy to have them, but I can't believe that they're loving Barca in the same way Puyol and Xavi do, right? So, if Zlatan says "I'm staying in Barca even in Segunda Division", I'd obviosly refuse to believe him. If it's about Puyol and Xavi - they don't need to say anything, we know that they'd stay. The same way Del Piero stayed with Juve in Seria B, when Cannavaro and Zlatan escaped the boat.
