Rodri

Doubtful he'd ever join Real Madrid, being Atletico Madrid youth product. And he's no foreigner like Courtois, Rodri is Madrid local very much born into the city's football culture.
.
Academy roots dont matter that much as an adult who had left, especially if he wants to seriously contend for titles
Plus he's gonna start getting older.
Time running out to get back to Spain and do so

De Gea was born and bred, and was a fax away from joining
Theo Hernandez is an Atleti product, had no problem coming
de Frutos playing at Rayo was subsequently a Castilla player and was a suggested Carvajal backup a few years ago, was a Majadahonda academy product (they use Atleti B ground)
Raul spent 2 years there having grown up in San Cristobal, didnt think twice when their B-team folded in the 90s for a time
A RM legend like Juanito was an Atletico product

De Gea is the single name on your list that I accept and it never materialized.

The rest of the examples are youth careers that never played a single second for Atletico's first team.

Anyway we are having this conversation, simply because you are convinced Rodri is destined for Real Madrid when everything else points in the opposite direction, especially atm.

Haha nobody is 'convinced' of anything
TBH closer to you being convinced of opposite and that he's a pepboi through and through + would hate Real when no evidence for it

No need to 'accept' names
Players do not get married to their schoolboy colours by default
Tendencies are one thing, what is actually materialising is another

Isn't he too old for Madrid? He'll be 29 when next season starts and has a contract until 2027.

How much would Madrid offer for a player like that who also just recovered from ACL?

To offer smth like 80m in these circumstances seem too much for Madrid, but also too little for City to accept. They don't need the money and any replacement will be a downgrade.

Rodrygo + 20 M should do it ;]
Helps if he wants to be in Spain at a certain time
Either that or he might miss the boat like Bernardo

This guy in my opinion is better than prime Busquets. Is less talented in terms of dribbling, but come on, he is the perfect defensive midfielder with insane courage to go forward when it matters.
Haland was so overhyped when this guy won City the treble. I think he should get a Ballon d'Or if Spain wins.
At least it doesn't sounds so foolish anymore. And the meltdown of the whole "royal club", Guti & their world wide population of retards invading the pages of random Rodris was absolutely delicious.

They did? When? He left when he was 37 as a bench player. Big difference to almost 10 year younger Rodri now who won Ballon d'Or.
Rodri wouldn't have been anywhere near a Ballon d'Or nomination in Fernandinho's day though, and even then no one expected this level from him. I would bet on Guardiola to help create another elite #6 if he stays.

Correct. He's also not French nor a Brazilian under the age of 21.

You make it sound like City think Rodri is expendable and would sell him quite easily if Madrid came knocking.
