It's not a done deal yet, the santos president just cleared it. They want 50 million euros, while real want to pay 40-45 million max.

The ball is still in no one's court. But I doubt Barcelona to take any action, seems like he was considered as a luxury buy by board. Plus seeing the RM interest & possible further price hike, we may drop out.

What seems to me more baffling is that how come Rodrygo's entourage are willing to agree to the deal.

I mean they already have Ronaldo, Bale, Asensio & Vasquez who can play there. Plus, Vinicius who is very similar & is about to come next year, plays there as well. Plus, Neymar and Mbappe, who are also strongly linked to them & also play on that position.

While at Barca, there is none who specifically plays at that position. Although Dembele & coutinho can play there but its not their natural position.

Any person who wants to make a choice, Barcelona seems the obvious one.

I'd hate if we paid 60m for this guy. Simply ridiculous.

At the same time, it's incredibly stupid that we burned bridges with Santos over Neymar. Looks like we won't be doing and transfers with them for awhile.

yeah whats wrong with us on not spending 50m+ and making a record transfer fee for South American player on a relatively unknown

or destroying our already huge wage structure on a player we didn't really need but wanted to not miss out on the opportunity :lol:

ATM is paying 23m and Man-u would have no problem paying 20m. So Griezman can justify that as his market value.

A player we do not need? You have a lot confidence in a 31 Suarez who gets paid close to 20m to score mostly tap ins.

our wage bill is #1 in the world, and adding griezmann with no signs of selling suarez would add 40m anually (before taxes)

i see why the club didnt offer him the same wages atletico did.
