That's what people have been saying since before Christmas but it's more down to the fact that is what Utd want. I'm not sure Rom wants that or Rooney would take the pay cut.

Frankly most Everton fans don't want Rooney back and especially not if it means losing Lukaku however if the money is right it might make sense for a season or two. The big thing Utd have in their favour is that they can afford him out of the clubs mentioned only PSG and Utd are likely to pay what Everton value him at.

Which is what £70m more like £40m.
