Romelu Lukaku

He played his role really well today against top opposition. i must admit when United paid 70m or so for him I thought they'd signed a donkey but even his control is nowhere near as bad as people make out.

I thought he played a fantastic game and I have never been a big Lukaku fan. If anything Lukaku should be pissed at Hazard and De Bruyne for not passing him the ball or fucking up the pass when he could have gotten into scoring positions.

His game has gone up another level under Mourinho. So much rubbish is spoken at times

Except he doesn't perform like this consistently under Mourinho because of your shit attacking tactics and him getting burdened with more defensive responsibility.

He wasn't anything special today. Why the plaudits? He messed a lot of chances for Belgium tonight.

Had a good first half with some really impressive runs. Not many CFs can do these and especially not the ones with this kind of physical strengths.

I rarely watch United because Mou is a waste of time, but he is surprising me this WC. Is faster than i remembered and quite good with the ball.

That's what he does. He goes missing, when the going gets tough.

You could see KDB getting frustrated at the ending moments, while after half time, Hazard was telling him about the positioning.

Is this a joke? Lukaku was humble enough to sacrifice himself to an extent for the team and was fantastic. He could have had a goal if Hazard was less selfish.

Like I said in the world cup thread, he played like Drogba in his prime today.

Wonderful performance.

Maybe I'm the only one that don't rate him. Worked his ass off, that I agree. Whenever he had to do his striker duty he lost the ball too easily though. Miranda had him in his pocket. Slow ass Miranda.

Anyway, if I'm Barca's board I wouldn't touch this guy with a ten foot pole. For me he doesn't have the quality to play for the elite teams. But that's just me.

yeah he wouldn't be any good in la liga or a technical team playing ball to feet but the guy is a monster when he gets going. if he keeps improving like he has he'll be one of the top strikers in the world imho

That being said, I'd rather have him than Suarez at this point but that's not saying much. Suarez is a shell of his former self right now. Would still look for someone else for us.

The comparison with Drogba doesn't make sense. For his stature he's not even that good at aerial balls. Drogba was a beast in the air. His technique is also nothing special. What he has is power, long range speed and the will to work his butt off. For that, hat's off to him, but overall I'd say pass without thinking twice.

Just turned 25 still learning and improving.

Great game from him today and his team mates.

Hopefully Jose uses him better next year instead of being so strict with his positioning and role.
