Romelu Lukaku

President of FC Barcelona
I mean they knew each other since their time in Man Utd although the voodoo episode may have soured things abit.

Lukaku changing agent/agency from Raiola to Roc Nation soured things. I don't think they're very good friends.

I know he's had a great season, but are we supposed to ignore that a player in his prime is getting outscored by oldies like Ronaldo and Zlatan(looking at minutes per game, of course), not to mention that he is getting decimated by Muriel?

Fantastic season by Muriel, tbf.

Lukaku also has 11 assists, 23 goals and 11 assists and a title, great season he has had imo.

Just lacks that finesse to be considered a top striker. To make matters worse his aerial ability is nonexistent

Lukaku is very strong and he can win duels with defenders. You can see he is one of the best strikers in the world (after Lewandowski, Haaland..).
With his huge physicality, speed and power, he would a very interesting player for the actual Barcelona, much more interesting than Aguero (who is good as a bench-replacement actually).

I like his heart. Plays with a chip on his shoulder over the rep of a talentless brute. He can do some things and he may not be exceptional but I like he talks himself up. Helps him be motivated to get better and keep proving people wrong in moments. All he needs is that key goal at some point to get some respect.

He is still as shit with the ball as he was in the premier league. No improvement whatsoever in that department.

One might draw conclusions that Serie A isn't very good, but then you also have Italy bossing the tournament

International football is a bit weird.

I can understand having shit games. However, where you play shouldn't have an effect on your technical ability. It probably doesn't, it's definitely his level.

He would be awful for Barca. He can't make shortpasses, head the ball and he would struggle in small space etc.

He thrives in counters when he can run with speed and force. Barca he will never have opportunities for those.

Nope. He is much better than an 2019 Suarez.
At least he can counter-attack and make powerful runs. He can receive interesting through-balls from Messi or Frenkie.
We don't need him for possession-game. We need him to offer depth as a striker. In possession game, he can use his body to occupy the defenders and so he will open an interesting space for Messi and others coming from behind.

There were several good counters where Lukaku fucked it up because he made a technical mistake. Inter's his level, keep him far away from Barcelona.

Lukaku wasn't lethal at the second-half because he wasn't helped by teammates during these counter-attacks.
DeBruyne got injured early, and Hazard also (out of shape, and injured again). In many situations Lukaku was running alone vs 3 defenders, and he wasn't bad at all, as he won many duels, did some dribbles and looked "tireless". I would take this version of Lukaku, if we don't have a Lewandowski or Haaland or Mbappe.

Suarez is ten times the player in the box and he has way better brain for passing or scoring.

For most of the teams we face in LaLiga we don't need counter ability. It's mostly helpful vs top teams.

We could use quicker wingers.
