His appointment means nothing. Only thing that matters is ensuring Bartomeu resigns or calls early elections, else the results will remain the same

Who knows what the next board will be like. As fans we like to hope the new guys will come in and start doing the right things, but we have no idea what is going to happen. Amigos still have a few years left on their contracts. New board could very well come in and keep them around due to their status. Number one priority from a new board for me will be dumping this current senior lot. None of the other problems can be addressed until this happens.

First interview as a Barca coach.

"Pique, Busquets, Suarez and Alba are still world class players, they can offer at least two more seasons."
"I've always been a fan of Rakitic."
"I?m sure that we will play well and then the results will come."

If he says any of that, we are screwed for the next season as well and more humiliation will follow:lol:

It makes the most sense right now. Pocch is better but he is a longer term option. Koeman might be the one who can stand up to the amigos and get some change started. Hopefully.

That or he leaves after a few months when he realises their all c*nts.

He's going to resign from the Dutch NT for a job he'll only retain for a year. I know that Barca have been his dream since he started his career, but this is not a smart decision on his part.

Koeman is a good coach, not a great coach but atleast he isn't clueless like Seiten and he did incorporate a lot of young Dutch players into the national team and had them playing some good stuff. So maybe he would actually be pretty good at trying to rebuild the squad like he did with The Netherlands but I don't think he would be the manager to make us the best team in Europe again but that is a few years off anyway. Koeman has always been headstrong and is a big personality and will have the respect of the dressing room at least at the beginning so it might turn out ok. Also we don't really know how these thing will turn out, Hansi Flick was just an interim coach for Bayern but it just clicked for him so who knows maybe that could happen for Koeman.

CONFIRMED: Ronald Koeman has been choosen as new Barcelona manager! He's going to leave the Holland National team to join Barca - official statement this week. [FabrizioRomano]

Best case scenario given current circumstances.

So what? If he show improvment in all aspects, I don't care that Xavi wouldn't be a coach in the summer.

Still not clear how the EUROs will proceed, so he decided to take the chance before Xavi wants the job.

I just don't think the players will respect Pocch enough, with his history. Now if the board say "Mauricio, we want you to lead the new project which will continue if one of our candidates win the elections. We are going to clear out Pique,Busquets, Suarez and replace them with harder working options at your discretion within our budget. You have full trust and backing with the squad selection" then he is the better choice. All he needs to do is apologize for past comments and start his job.

But with the small window until the end of the season, I don't think we are going to have the major personel changes we need. And in that scenario I trust more in Koeman to stand his ground and bench who is not working hard enough, and for the amigos to respect that- atleast initially.

Just my 0.02c, and I could be reading Pocchetino's mentality all wrong.
