Ronald Koeman

El Gato

Villarato!
Life moves quickly. He is 57 now and has already turned down the job a few times. Good chance he never gets another call from us if he turned down this offer. He is not coming into a good situation and may terribly fail, but at least he will not have to live with the regret of "what if."

Dutch national side and their development is great and all, but F.C. Barcelona doesn't come knocking that often. Glad he took the challenge and am intrigued to see how he does.

Funny how that argument works in this circumstance, but when Lopetegui is presented with such decision to make in a 1000x shorter timespan he's sacked and scapegoated by certain circles.

There is a huge difference in the two situations.

For what it’s worth, coaches with impressive playing careers tend to do well with us. Rijkaard, Pep, Lucho.

Maybe it takes a superstar player to deal with superstar players. Zidane also succeeded at Madrid with no resume beyond his days as a player.
