If Ten Haag isn't willing to speak Spanish in matter of few months at least, then you are hiring a poor copy of him.
Globalization didn't change that. Most of those players have barely completed high school education and it will cause huge stresses if they have to communicate with coaches through translator.
Sure, but there is a difference between managing to learn basics of a language and being fluent at it.
At the age coaches get these jobs they can hardly acquire even intermediate level in a language. Basics OK, but in explaining tactics and talking a lot to the players to address all kinds of issues, you need the full set of capacities of a language.
That's why an interpreter is necessary in these situations.
