Ronald Koeman

What happens with his contract with the Netherlands NT?

In general, the yes men are those for whom coaching Barca is the only relevant thing they've done in their life.

All the others I mentioned, including Koeman, have already made their mark on football.

He genuinely seems like someone with a strong character who is not afraid to stand up to the players.

Koeman and Barto elbowing each other upon signing the contract. Body language says it all, Barto arm is head downward towards failure while Koeman is heading upward towards success

Hehe but you have to put this into context too. Koeman has not started facing the pressure yet, so it?s a piece of cake for him to be confident and hold his head high, so to speak. Let?s see what happens during the next year. 😅

Yea, it's very important to not depend on the job to be relevant. Both Valverde and Setien were nobody prior to Barca in the grand scene, and will be nobodies after it probably.

If you ask an Everton fan, they will advise against Koeman. The Dutch team was also about to restart and Koeman managed to do that. I don't want to compare the national team and the club team now. For some reason, however, coaches from the Ajax / Bar?a school only have their great successes at these clubs. Was like that with Rijkaard, was like that with Lucho (although you can discuss the "school" there) and is like that with Koeman too. Successful with Ajax and Eindhoven, failed at Valencia (despite cup victory) and Everton. With Guardiola you can't speak of failure, but he's just a completely different caliber. With the resources available, despite great football away from Bar?a, he also failed to win the big "CL".

The recent past at Barca shows that the most successful coaches are those who have a great history as Blaugrana-players. At some point there comes a point when there is a conflict between the coach and the team and then the decisive factor is who emerges as the winner here. There are books about Pep's conflicts with some players. It is also known that the tablecloth between Lucho and Messi was cut 4 months before the triple and that Xavi and other players had to intervene. If it's the players who win such a conflict, then they do what they want. Valverde was popular because the players had complete freedom. Under Seti?n, his co crashed into some players because he was a tough guy with enthusiam and shouted at players from the sidelines. What happened? In the game after that he just sat quietly on the bench and has never been seen on the sidelines since then.

What do I mean by that? This team has huge egos, players who have really won everything there is to be won. I don't think Tata Martino, Valverde or Seti?n are bad coaches. They all had great ideas and promising inaugural press conferences. Sooner or later they all had to find out that this was not feasible and they bowed to the will of the team. In order to be able to train this team successfully, you have to have a certain alpha mentality. All who have successfully trained these players in the recent past have the following in common: Legendary status at Barca due to numerous successes as players. Accordingly, a certain self-confidence and respect from the players.

In the current situation, this team needs a "my way or highway" type. Koeman doesn't have to be popular, he has to have respect within the team and assert himself if there is a conflict. Because one thing is clear: he will have to make unpopular decisions. Busquets is used to playing every top game. Koeman will (hopefully) force Frenkie into his position. It means accepting or changing club. Creating turmoil because you have lost your regular place and feel offended must not be rewarded (see Vidal). And Busquets is just one example of a few more.

After Kroos clowned us on a German podcast , it's now Deulofeu's turn

Gerard Deulofeu (ex-Bar?a): "I can tell you about Koeman from my personal experience. He gave me absolutely nothing as a coach. I was not happy. I asked to leave and went to Milan."

Gerard Deulofeu : "The truth is, what's happening with Bar?a gives me no pain. The club hasn't had any patience for youngsters in ages. There are some who go through, some have left, but they have no patience at all. They are very behind."

Gerard Deulofeu : "I don't know what will happen with Messi because I don't know what he's thinking, but I want him to stay. He's made history with the club."

Gerard Deulofeu : "The defeat against Bayern was terrible and unexpected. This is the Champions League. If you're not awake, they will overthrow you."

Gerard Deulofeu : "Koeman was my coach for 6 months. I was never happy during that time."

Deulofeu was probably mad he was held accountable while the wannabe thought he was the second coming of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Damn, Deu does not seem to be in good terms with Koeman. Seems like everyone is willingly taking a shot at us now. No fear or respect.

Good, Koeman won?t settle for stupidity and mediocracy

There is obviously some of that , but there was also that black player (can't remember his name) that got properly mistreated aswell.

Just finding it hilarous that Im hearing this talk of restructuring , wage cuts , a new cycle. Yet the only reports that are coming out are :

-Players agents coming out saying their players will stay
-Players from Bayern , Real etc clowning us.
-Semedo getting a contract until 2025
- We just signed some random Brazilian
-And now we have a report that you posted in the Barto thread saying the players want to have a talk , in other words they will never leave and will never take a pay cut.

Koeman paid his own release clause to leave his national team duties behind and he sacrificed a chance in Euro 2021 .. trust me if they gang against him he won?t be falling without exposing these players and bringing them down with him.

Horatio

You're welcome
My impression of him is that he is a very likable guy. Dutch players adore him and most have a very good relationship with him. But he?s also not afraid to drop a player if he feels necessary. Will yell at players as well.
Overall calm and collected.

I think Alba will be first to have issues with him.
This guy is Dutch. No time for crybabies and whiners.

"At the Barcelona Technical Secretary they manage a starting eleven for next season. In the eleven - Luis Su?rez, Jordi Alba, Busquets and Gerard Piqu? aren?t present"

https://twitter.com/HagridFCB/status/1296215767122350083

Can't imagine Alba not being in the starting XI as I have no confidence in Jr.

My line-up according to the tweet

MATS---*, Araujo, Lenglet, Jr. (?) --- Pjanic, DJ, Puig --- Griezmann, Messi, Fati

*= idc between Semedo and Bob.
