We don't play until monday.. Bad for us, but good for the internationals to get some extra rest.

plus messi got an extended vacation so he should be in prime condition for the final stretch of games.

real or atletico might lose points before we play.

Koeman's history with Barca probably makes it easier for him to stamp his authority on the team and gain the respect of the players.

Because his efforts at doing the same elsewhere haven't always worked out so well for him.

That's why I was positive about his appointment. For some reason (RESPECT due to achievements as a player at the club), proven ex-players get trusted a lot by the old guard (who have won a lot themselves) and players follow their "idea or plan" of playing football more than they did with guys like Setien or Valverde (who had "respect" and backing of players due to being nice and let players have their way). I know there have been some issues with Lucho too, but in the end they were successful and played exciting football. Given the circumstances, Koeman is doing a great job too.

He scored more than 200 goals in his career. Can you believe that?

Crazy number taking his position(s) into consideration. How many does Ramos have?

I saw these positive things beforehand as well, but he has performed a bit worse than I thought and I don't like the way he has been handling Puig, Pedri, Trincao and Griezmann, to name a few.
He can be a decent option for another year, but he should never be able to get his way regarding these dutch patzers wanting to get in and get a last big contract at Barcelona...

Around 130, he's more than 100 goals away from Koeman.

Koeman actually scored more than 250 goals. 253 to be exact.

Well, Koeman took a lot more penalties in his career than Ramos, Koeman also played in midfield a good number of times.

Obviously, Ramos doesnt have the long range shooting that Koeman did, not taking anything away from Koeman there, great goalscorer.

One of the best things about Koeman, rewatching some highlights is that, unlike EV, the defenders don't pass when they have space they can gain by advancing on the ball. That's why you see them often in the opponent's half, on build-up acting basically like central midfielders. De Jong, in many ways, playing central libero in the backline, is in many purposes on build-up a faster Busquets. Busquets doesn't drop anymore between the central defenders, because a large part of this role has been taken over expertly by De Jong, with the benefit that he is already facing the game and is much faster than Busi. So the move is reversed. Instead of having a DM dropping all the time to pick up balls, now you have a defender playing deeper theoretically, but breaching in midfield anytime there's a gap. And he does this very frequently to the point that you can't even consider him a central defender.

Under EV there was a tremendous amount of unprovoked passing from central defenders (usually to lateral fullbacks, almost each game Alba and Roberto both registered the most touches out of anyone on the field), which played a part in the boring football we played usually under him. Resulting in a very long team from defender to striker and in few options on the ball, because central midfielders rarely joined the offense.

Super Like.

I don't know if de Jong as libero is a long term thing, but it suits him as he is a very front facing player. Busquets can pick out any option in his 360, de Jong struggles with that.

It's nice to see this Busquets renaissance and it only required two things. No Rakitic and No Valverde. Blessed.
